To introduce myself, since I never did on my previous posts. I hail from Puerto Rico and I've been a fan of DS for a while now and really got into it during Covid. I've been doing vocals on black metal and death metal bands since 2014, but this is the first time I've tried actually composing something. This is also a learning process for me, so hopefully I can see myself improve with each album I release. I'm hoping to look back at this in a few years and see how my sound has changed. I figured my DS would be the best place to start since it's so open to experimentation and the community is also amazing. I love a genre of music that just has constant new music coming out and much like black metal, dungeon synth really delivers on that front.
Also is melancholic dungeon synth a thing? Because that's what feels to fit my work more. Also, been going for a cleaner sound rather than the old lofi vibe most DS has, so I really don't know how to categorize myself anymore. My first release was pretty much winter synth, Second release was also mostly winter synth but with a cleaner sound and a bit of that melancholic vibe thrown in. This third release is seemingly going in on that clean and melancholic vibe with a winter synth base.

Wepa! I lived in Puerto Rico for a couple of years back in the late 90s. I loved the mix of tropical environment, different cultures and the remnants of late medieval history. Lovely melancholy in your music... and I think I hear a hint of the coqui.

I like that despite the tropical climate here, I can still find a nice quiet forest up in the mountains. And, you might hear a coqui or two in a future album I'm planning to do themed around the island.

It has a quality of melody that I appreciate in some of my favorite musicians and that I aspire to.

So, album 3 is finished. How do you guys go about with promoting your works and releasing material? I've just been uploading to bandcamp, posting here and on reddit. I've tried contacting a couple of the youtube channels that upload DS stuff, but have gotten no replies. So, for now I guess I'll just do the same I've been doing.

Anyways, after taking a while working on this, I am finally releasing album #3 The Weeping of a Solitary Bride. The journey to release this has really been where I've learned the most about making music and also realizing how far I still have to go. But it has definitely helped shape the style of music I want to keep making for now. I hope you guys can enjoy this! underthefrostmoon.bandcamp.com/album/the-weeping-of-a-solitary-bride

Deep melancholic introspection, but in a way that feels cathartic and healing. I especially like the percussion, it brings warmth and energy to the icy gloom. Some very rich and atmospheric synth sounds here too. Very minimal at times but that only contributes to its stark lonely frozen vision. Nice work!

It's an honor, your comments here really show that you've listened to each release carefully. Hell, I even like reading your reviews here in general.
