Especially liked the artwork on the inner J-card, was that exclusive to this tape? Thank you so much man, I'm really happy to hear that! You're correct, the inner J-card artwork was unique to this release with Gondolin Records; I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 drawings that haven't been used yet, so it was really kind of him to showcase some of them. Very honored to be included in Gondolin Record's legacy and equally honored that you got one of the tapes!

Have you ever shown your work, or maybe thought about publishing a small art book/zine?

Have you ever shown your work, or maybe thought about publishing a small art book/zine? Man, thank you so much! I'm pretty private with creative endeavors, so usually only show close friends/family. The music started conjuring up images in my head, so while working on the tracks for an album, I would work on related drawings during the same period. Obviously you can only use one piece of art per album, so that left me with a lot of unused material. It's a great 5-year time capsule to go sorting through, but I never really gave much thought to showing/publishing anything until recently. I've been looking into the cost for putting something together, but I'd really like to do it the right way. Ideally, it would be bound in a hardcover format with really pro-quality paper and printing. The only problem is that it's really expensive to go that route and self-publish (somewhere in the neighborhood of $40-$50 per book). There's an artist in Seattle I really like named Lucas Allen Cook. He does really great black/white drawings and then prints up incredibly affordable zines on colored paper. I've considered going a similar route, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Sorry for the essay, it's just been on my mind recently!

A zine is definitely more affordable, and probably the most accessible to fans. Hardcover does have a nice look and feel to it, but $40+ is pretty steep indeed. Hopefully there’s a cheaper alternative out there. You could always potentially use them different ways for future physical releases, CD booklet, fold out J-cards. Maybe a really long parchment scroll... hmm. Lucas Allen Cook does great stuff, I saw the Nahadoth cover he did and checked out more of his art. Didn’t know about the Darktripz zines, thanks for the tip. Will definitely pick those up!
