There is some outrageous claims that has been uttered recently that I feel the need to robustly address and confront. It is said that this new Dungeon Synth project called Redig found att redig.bandcamp.com/ has some kind of relationship to Digre. This is, as would be apparent to most, utterly false and there is no need for me to expose the hollowness of the claims that can be read at archaictriad.com/2017/05/07/redig-narrow-gate/ Conspiracy aside... if anyone needs a Redeem code or two for Redigs album please tell and I will provide for all. And for those interested in Digre news I am glad to inform that I am making a new full length bandcamp album about the martyrdom of Saint Olaf of Norway and the Battle of Stiklestad. And I am trying to get some single tracks preluding this album for some of the dungeon synth collaborations that are in the making. We shall see.

Tons of crazy conspiracies out there...I did quite enjoy that redig album though, although I know that doesn't count for much since it's not your project π
. Anyway, looking forward to more Digre!

I use famitracker and puleboy and runs it through my PC instead of through a real NES or gameboy. so it is faketune if you would ask a chiptune purist. Hello, Digre is a nice project. We're just having a discussion about the Ultima games in another thread, and this kind of music which medieval chiptune is certainly something I can enjoy. I'm quite a chiptune purist, but as long as you're using a software which can export to real hardware, such as Famitracker, I don't consider this as "fakebit", because it uses the same music engine. You just don't record from a NES because you don't have the NES or the specific card to replay your music. I didn't know pulseboy until know, and since it's using samples it's probably more "fakebit" You might want to try the Deflemask Tracker, it can export to many hardware, such as NES, gameboy, Megadrive, C64 and such... I'll listen more of your music for sure! It seems people from Scandinavia have much facilities to compose chiptunes, it's funny.

And I have plans to run my music through it some day. And I need LSDJ for a gameboy but I do now have one at the moment. I used to have one. I think that there was a swede that was called Flortanten that developed lsdj back in the 2000s . great machinery. Oh so it is all around considered chiptune and not faketune you say. that is great. but is that the opinion of everybody? I have no opinion on this matter myself but I do want to respect the rules of the "scene". I have a c64 and a Macintosh SE. I have done some dungeoneering on the mac but have not connected the c64 for many years.

I have a NES too, but the cardridge for replaying tunes is quite pricey (above 100 β¬). I'll probably get one at some point. We're discussing this on the chipmusic forum (you can probably advertise your music there as well): chipmusic.org/forums/topic/19638/suggestions-for-famitrackerdeflemask-to-hardware/For the gameboy, it's cheaper, you can get an EMS 64 card for under 40 β¬ and a gameboy for around 30 β¬. And LSDJ itself is not much expensive (a few euros). I like LSDJ but I find deflemask easier now (I think you can get more effects in LSDJ though). Most people don't really care about the concept of fakebit or not, because music is music and even with VST (which is fakebit for sure because you can't replay it on original hardware) it's hard to tell the difference. I think you should only say your music is "chiptune", it's not necessary to call this fakebit. The only distinction for me is it's more "genuine" when it respects the limitations of the hardware, and the resulting file is contained in a format that can replay on hardware (such as sid on c64, nsf on NES etc) You can also read this thread but it's not necessary very interesting by itself: chipmusic.org/forums/topic/13610/am-i-makin-8bit-chiptune-or-fakebit/

Finally got a chance to listen to "Pilgrim" and I love it. It brings back feelings from being young, playing RPGs with friends while it's raining outside. The chiptune nature really lends itself to the narrative you have established. Bravo, please keep up the great work!

The chiptune nature really lends itself to the narrative you have established. Bravo, please keep up the great work! I am glad you enjoyed it. Today was the first rainy weekend of this year here and I got a Nintendo Mini Classic. they called from the media store and said that they had gotten one in and that I was on the top of their list. So I have been playing not RPG but Zelda. It summoned lots of nostalgia for me. I have partly chosen this way of making music to bring forth the familiar feelings of childhood where our minds where open and our hearths where soft and open. Thank you for your comment.

I understand that there is some commotion in the community after Canrith Knox announced, on the face book, that Digre and Hollow Myths is working together for a third release. I have received loads of letters and phone calls from folks wondering if this is true and if so what is it all about. I feel that I have the obligation to straighten things out. Yes! Yes it is true. We are working on a tape together that will contain a few completely new tracks telling the very historical true and spiritual real event of the Battle of Stiklestad and the martyrdom of Holy King Olav of Norway. I am very pleased that Hollow Myths asked me if I was interested in releasing on their label. I strongly believe that HM is a sincere and proper label and I am much honored to be part of it all. I have not shared this information with you all before because I thought it would be best to not go over C. Knox head with the particulars of it all.

HM releases are always beautifully assembled and designed. You said only a few tracks, are these long ones or is it more of shorter EP?

Compact songs that are not too repetitive. 1 buildup track, 3 tracks about the martyrdom representing the 3 hits by Axe, Spear and Sword that King Olav the Holy recived and killed him. And one final track about the Holiness of the slayed King.

Today it is not only my birthday but also the feast day of my patron saint Martyr King Olav of Norway and I got a new better tape-recorder for duplication from my dad ( I do not know why my parents keeps giving me birthday presents I am too old too cold for that but I am grateful.) And I am done with the Erdig - Hiob tape now. I will drop them on Bandcamp soon but first I thought that I would give you all the chance to pre-order. I think that would be cheaper for everyone. Also it would be great to figure out what the postage would cost before I drop them on BC so if anyone feels the need to have Erdig - Hiob on cassette please just message me and we can figure it out together. I have made them brown and limited to 20.
