If any of you are homebrewers or experimented with homebrewing, I'd love to hear about it. I've been growing backyard hops for a few years, and collaborate with homebrewer friends to brew an annual wet hop harvest ale. So far they have been good, but fairly subtle. Recently I tried "brewing" a spontaneously fermented pineapple cider called tepache. It's tropical with a rustic cider funk. Very simple to make and no brewing equipment necessary. Otherwise, I lean to the sour and hoppy end of the beer spectrum but enjoy all kinds. Traditional lambics are great, I really like Tilquin, Hanssens, and Girardin. Lately i've been drinking a local passionfruit Berliner weisse, and tend towards sour ales and hoppy lagers in the summer. Four Roses single barrel is my go-to bourbon, and for Scotch i'm a fan of smoky Islay stuff and anything American oak forward. Not really a fan of sherry in whisky.

Anyone like mezcal?
I'd recommend it if you like islay whisky. It's a very interesting traditional drink, made from roasted agave hearts slow cooked for up to a week in a fire pit, it can have an intense smoked character with a sweet richness. The ones made from wild agave plants seem to be the most unusual from what i've tried. El Jolgorio, Ilegal Joven, and Nuestra Soledad are good ones.

I drink a lot from local breweries and sometimes out of state ones. Most of what I end up enjoying are IPAs and coffee stouts. I can tolerate domestic beers at a concert but I don't prefer them at home. I typically look for a very citrusy or piney taste in my beers, save for stouts which I look for flavors like coffee or cocoa.
I haven't delved too deep into hard liquor due to laws preventing normal grocery stores from selling it here, so there isn't a liquor store in reasonably safe walking distance unfortunately. It's also quite expensive on top of that. I did get my hands on small sample bottles during the holidays though and really liked fireball whiskey.
I do want to look more into wine at some point.
