I was looking for this thread for a while... Time to re-animate it So, let me start by posting what an excellent kind of Synthwave this album is : Delos - Self Titled EP delosmusic.bandcamp.com/releases ... Evocative synths, atmospheric waves and vibes of a different maybe alternate 80s or future era, one of the best gems, please if you know more in this vein make some recommendations for some more ... Favorite of the album would be this one, such a tune.. :

Have you guys heard of "sovietwave"? I've only just got my feet wet so far, but it seems like a cool new sort of genre with roots that I've wanted to see expanded on for a long time. Or a root I should say, because I encountered this one particularly cool and unique album called Angelo - Space Voyager (which I'm disappointed to say still does not seem to be available to listen to anywhere online at the moment). It's sort of like spacesynth, but different, hard to explain, but I know I've wanted to hear more like that album for many years but had no idea where to begin. I think "sovietwave" is probably the answer to that, just really chill, atmospheric, optimistic, nostalgic Russian synth music.

Nice, didn't knew the term "Sovietwave", in the EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT mix indeed you posted (thanx btw, lots of gems and gold there!!),at the description, it says "chillwave, synthwave, and electronic music" and by listening it I think it could mean that the whole mix is consisted of tracks of various styles like the aforementioned by Soviet artists(mixed with Soviet speech and related effects which also elevates some stuff I'm currently listening as I write it).. It's an awesome mix mate despite whatever genre each song could fit really ! As for Angelo - Space Voyager, if it is this one www.discogs.com/Angelo-Space-Voyager/release/6920238 if all else have failed the (in)famous russian tracker has it I think, the name of artist from Ukraine is Angelo Taylor! There's just so much Russian/Eastern block stuff in electronic/ambient/dungeon synth we don't know about because of the barrier language ... Always nice when people post a heads up, again thank you Andrew..

I'm glad you're liking it. There are lots of other cool so-called "sovietwave" mixes on that channel too.

Been a huge fan of synth/retrowave for some years now. Many people I have met say they can't get much into the genre or have managed to find just some few titles they like, but I feel I've come across a lot of artists that I personally find simply great. As a sci-fi person deep in my heart, I'm into retrofuturistic/cyberpunk/outrun in the 1st place, but also some of those softer and rather chillwave stuff are good. Some of my favs so far eg. Ace Buchannon, Mitch Murder, Duett, Daniel Deluxe, MoTER, ZAYAZ, Delos, Droid Bishop, Lost Years, Dynatron, Sebastian Gampl, Emil Rottmayer, Le Cassette, Voyage, Morgan Willis, CJ Burnett, George Ergemlidze, Dan Terminus, The Midnight, Trevor Something, Miami Nights 1984, VHS Dreams, Timecop1983, Kalax, Meteor, Turbo Knight...
Here's a nice one from a fellow Finn:

automatedhero.bandcamp.com/album/cognitionFrom the blurb: "I was sent a brief. Write some music for a drama about secret experiments into the breeding of telepaths using a drug called Cognition. My only payment: a briefcase containing a syringe. I since hid the briefcase, no one will find what remains of the evidence, but this can't be real, can it? They warned me: injecting myself could induce paranoid delusions."
