Surprised there wasn't a noise thread considering all the weirdo stuff already on the forum, so here it is.
Have been into a lot of wall stuff recently. Honestly haven't listened to much non-wall noise in a while. It's funny because at times I feel like harsh noise artists get into a repetitive thing where there are tons of artists doing the same thing, similar imagery, similar sounds, so I've been more drawn to wall stuff but face-value its not dynamic and 'just static', ha. But there is definitely a lot stuff going in in the hnw scene, lots of artists with their own sound and approach (enough to make hnw sub-genres like ambient noise wall, drone noise wall, and static minimalism).
A few wall artists I've been into in the past few months:
monk illuminating a manuscript
Definitely one of my favorite wall artists. Very meditative and soft. I listened to him every time I studied for my medieval art history class I took over summer. First physical will be on Altar of Waste sometime soon-ish.
Ushinawareta Tamashī
Excellent Japanese art accompanied walls. Seemed to have gotten less harsh since the first release, but its all great. Very synesthetic and natural-image rich. Latest one uses a stream recording created into an ANW. Lovely.
Shurayuki-hime
I linked a specific release from this artist. Monolithic 10 hour album with different textures per track (thankfully). I'm very close to buying the physical set. The historical Japanese historical feminist releases are great, very crumbly textures. I recommend the release I linked and this one.
Aside from wall stuff, I listen to all kinds of noise. Harsh, death industrial, PE, whatever, but mostly wall nowadays.
What does everyone else like? Or maybe you don't like noise at all?
