My wizardly companion, Phranick, has just released Musica Oblivione Delebitur in sheet music format! I find the idea of releasing sheet music interesting. I know that Synth Bard put out sheet music with Barovian Sketches. Are there any other examples of this in the realm of DS? What are your opinions on it? I'll be the first to admit that I can't read sheet music so it's not terribly useful in my hands. I should remedy that at some point, but I've been saying that for a couple decades now.

Yeah it definitely does limit the number of people that can experience it first hand - however, I think the idea of a piece that doesn’t ever have a ‘primary source’ kind of recording by the original artist, i.e. only ever heard when/if people choose to record it, is pretty cool and esoteric.

Chaucerian Myth makes his music through Musescore - essentially making the sheet music and then assigning them to different MIDI presets. it works well for him because of the classical nature of his work.

I think it is an interesting concept, one that I have actually never heard of before. For some time, I have been interested in how other artists write and compose their music, as there are some relatively complex DS albums.
Maybe I'll give it a shot and buy it.

I got my start in music creation through writing sheet music, though a lot of mine is more of layered repetitions and improvisations, so mine would look like either a lead sheet, or a collection of notecards. Actually, the latter idea might work... will have to think on that some more.
