I've added most of my music to Resonate (a new ethical streaming platform) - ethical in that they pay artists more than Spotify etc do...
Listeners buy credits and if you listen to a track enough times you own it and can download it.
Obviously it is never going to take over from Bandcamp for our music (as you can stream for free) BUT it is a very new service so if enough DS artists upload their stuff we could potentially spread our disease to the existing users... what do you think?
I've not found any other DS on there yet, but plenty of interesting electronic music, I'm going to try it as a listener for a while...
What do YOU think?

Interesting concept. I'm sceptical as to whether it'll take off the ground, but it seems like an interesting twist. Certainly, streaming platforms are the future mass format of music - and equally certainly, the current business models aren't tenable or satisfactory for artists.
Apparently Distrokid aren't sending music here yet?

As a user/listener I'm not planning on joining since I don't stream, I prefer to listen locally with my trusted Winamp and my own playlists. BUT for the sake of diversity of services and outreach of the DS genre, I think the most artists join it , obviously the much better.. Only thing , as with Gaming Platforms, Movie Streaming ones , Music ones are becoming more and more and in the end people will drop this concept..
Anyway great thought I think!

It's pretty simple, send FLAC files in a Google Drive folder and fill out a metadata spreadsheet. Are you going to put DDC on?

Me too, I rarely stream these days since I discovered dungeon synth! I will give this a shot though... I'm trying to listen to other music genres and this seems good for messed up electronic stuff. I think Planet Mu has some albums up on it...

I like that there are people trying new ways to make streaming a fair concept for all.

any idea on how to get a spreadsheet of metadata from the flac files? Login, go here: resonate.is/music/upload/You can download a blank metadata spreadsheet, fill in the details and put it in a Google Drive folder with your tracks then just paste the link in the box on this page.

I like the idea, hope this takes off. But is there really no way other than google drive? I'd rather deal with anything google as little as possible.

has it got an option for selling physicals? Nope, it's a streaming only platform. In opposition to Spotify, rather than Bandcamp.

Definitely better than Spotify or anything like that. I'm not big on streaming either, only times that I do is playing an album from bandcamp. I'll definitely bring this platform up when people are considering Spotify or something. As a user/listener I'm not planning on joining since I don't stream, I prefer to listen locally with my trusted Winamp and my own playlists. Another long forgotten Winamp user! Let's see your Winamp skin. Here's mine:
