Link me to some dark and evil themed dungeon synth please Have you heard Black Wailing? Vintage Greek stuff, here's demo I from '94 Or maybe LaΓ―lheb? It's more like black ambient but quite dungeony in my opinion. Here's the first track from the only demo: Tallenna

Thanks for the kind answer. I'm curious, why you say Conjured to Baphometh is not proper dungeon synth? Because of the drum machine behind?
Landscape sound interesting... The voice is kind of weird, though. But the synth is great! Will look into it.

No problem, I was actually referring to Landscape with that remark, as it's mostly really like Darkwave with touches of DS, the demos differ a bit from one another. But now that you mentioned it, if you checked out the Conjured... bandcamp you probably noticed there are two demos and the second one isn't really Dungeon Synthy at all, more like very experimental and bizarre. Then again, people seem to stretch and bend the definitions of what is DS quite a bit since the term was coined. Tallenna

Link me to some dark and evil themed dungeon synth please Less so DS than dark ambient, but Werwolfsblut is pretty terrifying.

This is one that I found some years ago: Soporific Sorcery. I think all releases are excellent.
Mischievous Misanthropy [November 2013] Cadaver Cacophony [January 2010] Sarcophagus Symphony II [January 2010]
The three albums are available for downloading for free at the Haunted Klinik site, hauntedklinik.xtreemhost.com, catalog section, home of the many projects of the man behind Soporific Sorcery. Instead of Dungeon Synth, he labeled Soporific Sorcery as "Torture Chamber Music". For me, it's quite dungeon synth. Haunted Klinik has a Bandcamp page, but Soporific Sorcery is not included.

Hey guys, first I gotta say how excited I am to have found this place. I look forward to participating in discussion and learning more about Dungeon Synth.
I've been dabbling in DS for a few years now, though I'm still very much uneducated in the genre overall. But I am trying to seek out some of the more well known DS artists' material. Over the last few weeks I've fallen in love with the band Lamentation. From what I gather they're one of the more popular DS bands. I guess I'm looking for a sound similar to them, the track "Whispers from Carmilla's Tomb" in particular. Thanks in advance, any responses are much appreciated.

I wanted for some years to explore the winter synth genre as a composer. Finally, I've started this project and made this album in 2014. It's a modest album, in the line of the first Vinterriket cassettes. Perhaps it can partially fulfill your request. eislandschaft.bandcamp.com/Reminds me of desolate and cold places, Really nice music man, love this kind of winter synth, it's perfect for relaxing in a winter day.

I'm glad you like it. I really appreciate your words about Eislandschaft. It was my first project ever edited in cassette (2016 by Wulfrune).

Really interested in what any of you guys would recommend for a table-top gaming session. I usually DM and would love something to get my players in the mood for a good old dungeon crawl. Something not too complicated so it's not distracting, but also not so ambient that it just becomes background noise.

Verminaard's Lorac's Folly would be a good bet, I know some people have had game sessions with it playing.

Why has no one recommended Elric to me? elricstormbringer.bandcamp.com/I have seen the cover art many times and it has made me laugh inwards quiet most of the times since it is so brilliant using those classic "drakar och demoner" covers for a metal oriented dungeon synth release.

This Elric has a funny sound. It somehow reminds me of my own chiptunes! So of course I find this rather cool to listen to! I'm curious to know what gears they're using.

Most of it is just a basic 'saw synth' MIDI instrument that you can write with in like guitar tab programs. I think he uses about 5 different instruments in total, all from the same set. I forget the soundbank name, but it's like the MIDI soundbank, same one used in Runescape for example.
