Can anyone recommend some contemporary DS that's raw, dark, cold, etc? Looking for hiss saturated, wobbled tape, no-fi DS that retains the black metal aesthetics that originally permeated the genre. Less idyllic, more morose and sombre in its presentation. Perhaps something that leans more towards the organ-based Funeral Dirge aesthetic than pure Dungeon Synth?

Ekthelion is really good, in my opinion. Age Of The Faceless Demon is a fantastic album. I like the sound design of that record. It uses sounds you'd typically hear in an 80's pop track, but in the DS vein. However, it's not exactly what I had in mind. That's a bit too clean. I'm seeking music that's more no-fi, more raw... $3-computer-microphone-from-1997-pointed-at-a-3inch-casio-speaker styled raw. Thanks for the Yearner recommendation. I'll go look for some of their music. EDIT: Yearner is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you! I'm thoroughly enjoying the Winternight album. Anymore recommendations based on this suggestion?

Honestly, most of the Voldsom catalog fits that description and is some of my favorite work in the genre. I especially recommend the first Til Det Bergens Skyggene, Winterschwarze by Jotgrimm, and Visions of Niften.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it could not be too far from truth.

Been listening to Krampusnacht and was wondering if anyone knew of something similar, specifically the sixth and seventh track? I'm loving the Christmas-y DS but I'm not sure if any other projects even exist. Maybe that'll be a project for me to make over the winter break. youtu.be/hJqPE1KzxhI

I like the feels of the album, but i'm still looking something "less" musical if you catch my drift, something field recordings or that way. Thx for the suggestion tho, was a nice listen Plugging my own label here, but it sounds like you are describing black cavern's "mΔtu Ε‘aplΔ«tu". Might be worth checking out if you haven't already. blackcavern.bandcamp.com/releasesYup i think thats what may comes the closest that i have listened.. Thanks for the suggestion it really is a great listen . if you have more desert synth, im open

If anyone has some "submarine" stuff, like underwater sonars, etc... It would be amazing

Hello, I'm searching for dungeon synth albums that were inspired in sound by Diablo 1.

any recommended DS that's good as background music for gardening? Not looking for new age music, but for DS which sounds "bucolic" or relaxing.... thanks.
