This one will be a very special album for me as it is the first one I'll release under a french title: PRISONNIER DU RÊVE ( Prisoner of the Dream ) Influenced by old animated TV series from my childhood (Ulysse 31, Les Mondes Engloutis, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors..) the comics from Moebius (l'incal, Métal Hurlant, Les Maîtres du Temps) or early Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream & the Berlin School (and even Daft Punk); this album will be strongly inspired by the synth sound of the 70s and 80s that I first discovered as a child in TV shows, slightly fuzzy and distorted through the cheap TV speakers... always with Dungeon Synth reference here and there! It is really a trip to the past, to my long lost early childhood and I can't wait to release it: it is definitely my best work so far in term of synth sounds & layers! I've already released 2 single and the album will come out soon now " PASSAGE" is the second single, in memory of my grandfather (you can hear him at the beginning of the track): The first single is the opening track of the album " PRISONNIER DU RÊVE " :

Thank you so much crystallogic13New Album is out now ▶ erang.bandcamp.com/album/prisonnier-du-r-veThis album, my first fully titled in French, is a tribute from the bottom of my heart and guts to my earliest childhood... I was born in 1982 and used to go to sleep listening to vinyl of "Book-and-record set": fantastic stories narrated by the deep voices of old French actors... Same voices I found in TV cartoons: Ulysse 31, the Sun beneath the Sea, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Albator... same strange worlds I used to find in comics: Moebius, Heavy Metal, the Incal, etc. A part of me is forever lost there, somewhere in time & space... PRISONER OF THE DREAM! ✨ A huge thanks to all of you: you give me the strength to keep it up & to give myself totally to this adventure! Shoutout to the Dungeon Synth community and all the musicians, labels and zines who support my music: you know who you are

p.s.Just saw on FB a post of you and wanted to comment instead here, so here is your post Erang :
While I don't recognize more than enough, the ones I don't music-related especially I;ll look into, but the ones I do recognize, I enjoy so much, the fact that in the same collage exists JMJ's legendary classic Oxygene as well as Summoning, it is so much satisfactory in the contrast and collision of music that gives you inspiration, excellent choices and excellent music by all of you (JMJ,Summoning and Erang) in my humble opinion.. Regards!!

Thanks so much!! Yes, this "inspirational map" is something like a "guide", or some totems that look over the album... Some of this inspiration might come out on the record "litteraly" and obvious when listening while others might be much more hidden or just few notes here and there that make sense only to me...

Erang, at last the previous couple of days I have repeated non-stop satisfying listenings to your fresh album, so some thoughts : I greatly enjoyed it , it is a great record in the electronic genre, a unique raw gem, full of dreamy nostalgia! While I have a minor complaint that some of the voice samples could have been used less, it is your artistic vision which is the most important.. The record is very friendly and pleasant to the ear, and while you enjoy and discern the songs, it flows so naturally that repeated listens felt anew again... It is hard to sometimes find words to express the satisfaction from music, but your album really traveled me back to older, better times and I put it next to your best ones, top to bottom a solid album, all electronic music enthusiasts should definitely attend...

Thanks crystallogic13 it was really meant to be like a whole "animated sci-fi movie" from the 70's/80's so it is important I guess to listen to it as whole. That's why I've just uploaded a sort of seamless mix on Youtube: Concerning the "voices" I get what you mean but, precisely, most of them are indeed from me and not from movies. I re-write them, recorded them and manipulate them to make it sound like it's coming from an old anime: so I guess they are part of my artistic vision as well A huge thanks for the time you took to write me your feedback here!
