Out of "single" releases this is the best ever: I've loved it since I got it via tape trading back in the day and I think it's the best Lamentation release. Ok, the entirety of "Fullmoon..." is great too, but this is just a notch better. Such a great tape! Love the piano passages. Actually got this a few months ago so I think I have the complete collection now unless there's something unknown. I vaguely remember there being something unreleased, but I could be thinking of another old 90s DS artist.

I'm extremely fond of this track: flecktarnproductions.bandcamp.com/album/collaborationВедомый холодным светом звёзд by Кирпикласс и Лапник (sorry, no youtube) Exceptionally dark, it's got a creaky, boat-like sound I haven't heard in any other DS (please let me know if you believe otherwise!). I believe the translation is "Led by the cold light of stars," which fits. Side note: is anyone good with Cyrillic? Mine is super-rusty, but this is my best shot: "Bedomey Holadneem svyetom zvyozd" by Kirpiclass & Lapnik

I see nowhere mention of Perunwit and Kraina Bez Wiatru. Both are pagan / folk music with roots from Black Metal. Yet, some songs are very DS for me: Kraina Bez Wiatru - Rana (1996) (the song Otchłań on the same album is fantastic, but there is guitar on it so it's less DS, here is a link anyway: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A1KmGowkww ) Perunwit: Wspomnienie: (not the typical DS tune, but I think it fits in the style, because of the fantastic mood):

Pilgrim's Shadow, this is such a weird tape. Not sure if you physically have the tape, but if I remember right, the j-card has some kind of story about all the music being 'found', I'll have to check once I'm home. The repetition component is kool, but the sound of the synths and texture of the album makes me want something longer.

I have listned to it for a long time, also while planing a d&d session, so i bought a digital copy. I wish though i could buy the tape itself This sounds like an interesting story, please let me know! The repetition is amazing, it is atmospheric and magical. I have to say that when it comes to repetitive tracks, short ones are more to my taste.

Finally, i have encountered an oldschool Oriental Dungeon Synth! It was supposed to be a DS project of the lead vocalist of Melechesh, an Israeli "Mesapotemian Black Metal band". The DS project was never really released so i have no idea how it got here.
The description in the video is russian, so i used google translate if anyone is interested in knowing more.
Dancing fans of the sinta are already accustomed to the fact that almost all projects build their compositions based on Western European medieval music. An exception to this rule existed in the first half of the 90's, it was called Ashmedi and was originally from Israel. Naturally, it was not some random Jew who was playing, but the founder of the "Mesopotamian" black metal band Melechesh, whose real name was Murat Cenan. There is nothing more about this cassette, there is not even a cover, if it existed at all. In one old interview with the band (vk.cc/5MVA7B) there is also mentioned the vinyl EPHA "Cosmic Deserts", characterized by their guitarist as "very Middle Eastern, very cosmic, very deserted". I could not find it. On the same promo-cassette is presented one long track, conditionally divided into two parts: the first with whispering vocals, turning into a scream, the second - purely instrumental with the use of a certain wind instrument and percussion. This is definitely DS, but the atmosphere is radically different from the same Mortis. The troll has a wandering through forgotten medieval kingdoms full of ancient magic. But the music of Ashmedi could sound in Prince of Persia, if he was a mysterious fantasy film from the 80's or a computer RPG of the 90's.

I got that Ashmedi tape rip from someone on Discogs, kool stuff. I think a more middle-eastern sounding or at least desert themed DS project/release could definitely work. I could see a kind of biblical desert theme, very ambient. Also, the Anubis album is coming soon from Obscure Dungeon Records. Egyptian synth.

I love the middle eastren desert and it's history, and in general i would like to see more fantasy settings that are based on Desert cultures and mythologies.
