Hey everyone,
Just wondering if someone could help be navigate the world Dungeon Synth a bit better. There is lots of great stuff out there but i'm having trouble finding stuff I love
I'm a fan of Black Metal in the vein of Paysage d'hiver Beketh Nexehmu Fell Voices so I clearly enjoy the kind of ambient end of the spectrum.
as far as Dungeon Synth goes I'm kinda into
Hate Forest - "Temple Forest" Darguun - "Undiscovered Dungeons" Manes - "Natt" Cernunnos - "Δάσος Των Τραγοπόδαρων Δαιμόνων" Murgrind - "Inheritor of the Forest Throne" Yearner - Winternight Onoskelis - The Hecate Prophecies in your Cold Throne Forgotten Pathways - Shrouded in Mystery Lord Wolf - Darklands of Hate Mists of Darkness - The Lightless Lands Valor - La Lune Noire Druadan Forest - The Loremasters Time Depressive Silence - Depressive Silence [7'' EP] Elador - Forgotten Land Лихо - Есть Лихо Voormithadreth - Sign of Mung
So I clearly like the darker, less neo-classical stuff. Lo-Fi is great, occult and mysterious and dungeon like (obviously) is great. Any suggestion on stuff I'm missing out on?
I also have been playing with writing a bit of music as well and been thinking about picking up the Korg M1 VST or (a friend suggested) TAL V2. Any other suggestions?
Thanks everyone!!

There is a channel in YT called The Dungeon Synth Archives. It has many releases online, covering all the Dungeon Synth scope, from minimalistic to orchestral.

Amazing stuff. This is exactly what i've been looking for. Cloak & Daggere is really great as well. Thanks so much. What kind of synth's have you played around with for Cloak and Daggere. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I also love the darker side of DS. Check this out, you won't be disappointed:

Are you familiar with Blême Euryale releases? I think artists like Balam and Laïlheb might do something for you, though they're more like black ambient than dungeon synth. Very dungeony at time though! Silence of Graveyard or... oh you had Mists of Darkness there. Actually quite a few things I've posted. TallennaTallenna

Kvlt - check out the Arthur album Pagan Sun's Fire. The Hate Forest release you mention was not written by Roman, but by Arthur Schkolnik, a one-time bassist for HF, and there are now two releases available under the Arthur name that are great, one of which is a reissue of the album commonly known as Temple Forest. Someone above recommended Abandoned Places - you should also check out Erdstall. Both are by the same person. AP is a stranger project but I think the music is really cool, and Erdstall is just astonishingly bleak long compositions with a really punishing atmosphere. You may enjoy Skarpseian's stuff. The latest, Fragmenter Av Trolldom, is really good epic (but not classical) DS, but still keeps a mysterious, ancient atmosphere and the there's a Deivlforst Reissue of the first two albums that is pretty solid. I also really enjoyed the Turonian album Skeletal Memories - Dinosaur themed DS, but it's one 40 minute composition and the work is really entrancing. Also, I'll plug myself - my second album, Solstice, was described by one person as atmospheric black metal with no guitars or drums, and I have a whole concept behind the record that is dealing with the working of magick on the darkest night of the year.

There haven't had new posts on the Dungeon Excavation in a while. Can we hope for new material posted there?

curwenius, I have a good amount of stuff I need to rip and post, a few things already ripped that I need to split into tracks. I just have very limited time, especially since I like to listen to a whole release right before posting it so it's fresh for commentary, which can take like up to an hour depending on what I'm posting. The next thing I'll post is the last Cernunnos demo which I'll try to do this weekend.

Great news! The Bacchia Neraida's tapes you posted in the Excavation are impossible to find anywhere. I always tried to get Elven Witchcraft tapes, and some of them were elusive along these years (and several still be).

I think I have one EWC tape to post that isn't on the discogs roster, but it may not be EWC (I can't remember)
