A while ago, I posted about my Dungeon Synth project in a thread called "Starting Out". As many Dungeon Synth musicians, I have a metal background. I am currently between releases for my Black Metal Project (Caprae Idolum) and I decided to start a dungeon synth project to continue beaing creative musically but have something with a distinctly different workflow. A lot of my projects tend to have a naming scheme relating to Goats and as my album is supposed to be heavily themed after Ralph Bakshi´s Lord of the Rings movie, I consulted the lotr wiki - one whole character contains the word goat, so here we have it: Goatleaf!
My first track, "Beseeching the Palanthir"
This is the first completed track. I used the DEXED VST, BBC Symphony Orchstra and Soundfonts from N64 games (mainly The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask and Donkey Kong 64). I applied reverb generously (I use Valhalla products). The song furthermore contains Voice Samples from Ralph Bakshi´s animated version of "The Lord of the Rings", as all tracks will.
I set myself a couple guidelines for the project. I want every track to at least contain one instrument which I made with DEXED, as I want to learn FM-Synthesis. I will also use voice samples in most tracks, but all of them will be from the Ralph Bakshi version of Lotr. I enjoy working with limitations on a project basis and I usually find it helps me be creative. I am currently working on the second track and will post an Update as soon as I have something presentable.
