Hi all! I Just wanted to share my new project called "Veil of Dreams" that's dedicated completely to lo-fi releases of Medieval Ambient, Fantasy Synth, Ambient Dungeon Synth, and similar genres. For years I've released this type of synth music under my main project called "Blue Crystal Star". However, since Blue Crystal Star is pretty much dedicated to meditative dark ambient drone music now a days, I felt it necessary to form a new project that would focus entirely on the Fantasy synth-based music I love creating. And regarding how I make my music, I use a collection of retro hardware synths, an old Yamaha RM1x sequencer, various guitar pedal effects, the onboard effects on my old Behringer mixer, CC0 found sounds on the internet, my own field recordings, and Audacity (no real DAW). Anyway, here's a link to my first EP for this project. This EP really serves more as an introduction to the type of style and sound to expect from this project moving forward. More releases coming soon! veilofdreams.bandcamp.com/album/final-callingAlso, here's a link to my main project "Blue Crystal Star" where you can find my older music. I actually remastered and released some of them recently. crystalblue64.bandcamp.com/

Hello Veil of Dreams ! I've enjoyed a lot of your work as Blue Crystal Star and been following your releases for a good time Also, your description of the BCS alias I think fits perfectly and I also +1 that when I see a new release I expect what you described!! Well done and congrats for lots of good music!! The topic of whether using multiple aliases or all on the same banner has been also brought up very recently in the forum if memory serves me well, not that much discussed so it's always interesting to read people's thought on that!! Very looking forward to listen to your Veil of Dreams fresh release, regards!!

Really happy to hear you've enjoyed my releases Honestly, other than remastering my past EP's and albums, I haven't really produced any music of this style for over 3 years so I'm looking forward to creating new content. Also, I actually posted on that thread regarding multiple aliases. It took me a few years to create a 2nd one for my retro synth project Blue Crystal Star. But, as, I explained in more detail on my post, I had professional reasons to do so. Basically, as that project evolved over the years and my growing catalog became more broad and eclectic it became confusing for those that follow my music.

I'm really into the use of synths that sound like synths, and not like other instruments. It's got a good aesthetic to it.

Yeah. I'm 100% with you there on the emphasis of the "synth" part of the genre. Creating custom patches on my hardware synthesizers is one of my favorite things to do. Even if the original stock sounds from the synth were based on acoustic instruments samples, I'll always distort that sound in some way by using effects like phaser, delay, formant, distortion, overdrive, etc. Even if the added effects are subtle. The sound is never in it's original "stock" state.

Hi all! I just wanted to share my latest release called " The Paramour Image" where some of the tracks are more on the experimental side. Therefore, making it on the edges of what you may consider Dungeon Synth. But it still has the overall vibe, I think. veilofdreams.bandcamp.com/album/the-paramour-imageHere are some bandcamp codes for anyone interested: h25e-glaj 4l6g-3m3y qcyn-c6cf ghum-xy4a 34w6-j3jb 5est-gs9w r642-u4y4 dnsw-jm2m saqc-ktw6 uht4-7hdk
