Hoh! I like this guy. His use of color is wonderful, and the balance of crispness and looseness in his paintings borderlines the ideal.

I've always been a fan of Joanna Karpowicz' Anubis series. It's pretty symbolic of the omnipresence of death and to me they also tell a story of a higher power learning to see the world how we see it but even beyond the symbolism there's just something so evocative about these paintings for me.

She has a great mastery of composition. Her paintings seem to draw you inward, especially the first one. That fire in of itself is attractive for being rather bright, but the way it's composed, every time you look away from the fire, there's something around to point you back to it.
