I mean combat sports.
I'm getting into boxing.
Would like to get into archery.
But REALLY would like to get so far into boxing that I learn how to wallop people with melee weapons and shields for... an art project.

Check out this thread dungeonsynth.proboards.com/thread/764/martial-arts painter, although I'm not sure if you're asking opinions on boxing and fitness or what purpose you have in mind.. You kinda got me confused in your whole boxing and weapons and art thing But as a fast opinion, it definitely would be nice to try see what you like and go on with that.. Personally I found BJJ to be much more enjoyable to practice as a "game"/competition etc etc and more complex than stand up fighting (kick boxing) but opinions vary and if you want fast results stand up fighting/striking whether its boxing, kick boxing, muay thai, whatever will probably have more fast results for self-defense.. It's a huge conversation but it all comes down to what reason you want to do it for (self-defense?fitness-wellfare?game/competition?) etc.. As for the weapons never got into them(besides mandatory army service) and don't want since it's a very different game and responsibility altogether and I also aint happy with all the mentally-ill people that in some places can go and just buy "legally" a fuckin weapon to do whatever their sick mind brings up..

Ah, didn't realize there was a thread. I just assumed dungeon nerds didn't know what sunlight or fitness was, paahahhahaha! But I'm going with boxing.

Np mate, hope you do go on and try practicing some box or any other sport martial art (traditional ones are not my type;they have slow evolution although spiritually they are way more deep).. When you train for a month let us know how you feel, I bet it gonna be rough in the first couple of weeks but if you "grind" it and push through in two months time you'll probably feel better than ever and also the feeling after training when you come home and only want to rest with free mind is PRICELESS.. regards!!

Oh believe me, my legs are just starting to feel the strain of roadwork. I thought I'd go running, but my legs are so stiff, that just walking around is a chore. So I'm taking today to rest, but it's right back into it tomorrow.

You know mate your self and what's best for you.. I'd suggest rest if you need, train if you feel or just not run, just walk, even walking, just walking is more than most people do to help themselves today.. Again, I saw you don't like grind, but real life is a bitch, we must grind it sometimes :/

Again, I saw you don't like grind, but real life is a bitch, we must grind it sometimes :/ The difference between a grind in an RPG and in real life is that gaming is a waste of time, working out is not. If I beat a game that took 50+ hours to beat on account of grinding, I'd feel that loss of time more than I would the accomplishment, especially since there's no reward. However, in reality, training and practicing, developing skills over time, they help improve your life in a way that is self-evident. I don't feel like I'm numbing my mind on some nonsense that is meant to entertain me, it feels like I'm sharpening it instead. That is the only grind worthy of pursuit!
