Does anyone else play Magic? More specifically what format do you play and how often. Foir the past few years I have excessively played EDH (Commander) with various playgroups at shops and stranger's houses. I have a competitive Azami deck, a pretty decent Momir Vig deck, a handful of depowered casual decks, and random specific build decks like pauper or Frontier build. My pet deck that I always have played and have built through various iterations is my Oona Queen of the Fae deck which came about since EDH was the only format where I could build Blue Black Faerie tribal. Do not get me wrong Wizardsd still hasn't printed enough faeries to make a fully functioning tribal deck BUT Oona is always the deck I can bring out and either try to win or bullshit my way through a game while drinking beer with friends. If you all have never played EDH (commander) it is super fun and a good reason to waste 3-4 hours with a group of friends.

We've talked on r/metal about mtg before but idk if I've shared about my decks.
I played regularly in college but once my roommates moved away I didn't look for new players. I never made my own edh deck and I'm not sure if I've ever won an edh game bc I was never familiar enough with my friends decks.
I do have 5 60 card decks though.
My first that I built is a black/red elemental tribal. Most of the cards are from shadowmoor and lorwyn.
I have an orzhov extort deck that is really fun.
Green/white enchantment deck that focuses on making Kor spirit dancer giant.
Green/Red mana ramp, big creatures deck. A lot of fun to play and I made it mostly from cards I got at the Born of the Gods prerelease and other packs.
I also have a blue faerie counter deck that sucks because it's an unsuccessful budget deck

Not surprised cloud of faeries was banned. We couldn't believe how broken that card was. My main issue with my deck is the mana curve. I could shut my opponent down for like 4-6 turns but had a hard time getting enough creatures out to poke with. Runechanters pike is invaluable for the extra punch but I rarely could afford to control and equip it in the same turn.
Possibly having more isochron scepters would make this more viable but my friends don't play pauper anymore either.
My one friend who I taught got super addicted and goes to stores all the time now. He is solely edh at this point and just wrecks bc he has spent hundreds and keeps winning events

I love playing Planechase with a 5 person EDH pod since all of the strategies built into the deck mean fuck all when you are making werewolves left and right and drawing seven cards at the end of your turn.

Planeschase is hilarious. I've only played it a couple times but it was great.
2hg is good but I like Emperor a lot better if we can get 6 players. I've had some great Emperor games.
I think we did 5 pointed star once too but that requires playable mono colored decks

We usually do Star when we have 5 player EDh since free for all takes forever. Star is fun since you have to just taker out tso people but other players are trying to actively stop you. As for Emperor, that got real unfun once my team had an all planeswalker EDH deck so the other team couldn't stop him from doing absurd stuff since the generals were aggro beef.

That certainly is the problem with emperor. It also sucks when the people you play with start pouring more money in. If you arent in the same spending bracket it's hard to have good match ups

Great to see other people have embraced the Planechase madness for EDH too! Really makes the games... well, different at least! I've been on and off the MtG drug ever since 4th Edition/Ice Age came out, with various longer pauses at unfortunate moments (like around Urza sets and later again Zendikar). There's not much scene, nor do I care to explore to be honest, where I live but we play mostly EDH with my younger brother and a couple of friends. A local shop has MtG games on every other Saturday or so, mostly EDH too I've been told but it's too small to be licenced to anything like FNM or whatever. There's a larger town roughly an hour away from here where they have a sanctioned store that has proper events and drafts and such but I've never managed to make myself go there. Not that I'd have a legal standard deck at the moment either but it'd be quick to whip something up. kaptaincarbon: I had an Oona deck too that was precious to me but everyone else hated it so much I, with heavy heart, recycled the resources to other decks. I wanted to play this for a long time but I didn't have a clue where and how to start. I played it a few times at my friends home to try it out, but never knew where to start with a deck. So yesterday I got a Planeswalker Deck with Nissa (Forest/Island) from my boyfriend as a birthdaygift. I just wonder, perhaps you know good places where to find handy info, tips&tricks for noobs?

Welcome to the wild and wonderful hobby of MTG. Planeswalkers decks are fantastic way to start! So let me ask you do you have anyone to play with o against as MTG is best wth two people. Ill search around for videos but feel free to ask any sort of silly question even if it is ... "I have no idea where to start, just tell me everything"
