Saw the sad news on DS facebook page, reposting it here since I believe so many either artists or fans of DS have a dear spot in their heart for the man who dressed with such perfect mysterious atmpospheric music David Lynch's movies and our lives.. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/angelo-badalamenti-obituary-1234646151/I could write on and on about what memories all of his great music brings to me but I'm sure you all have your own personal nostalgic memories tied to his timeless creations.. As with DS, metal and all the other great scenes we;ve seen flourishing during our lifetime, I feel we are kind of blessed to be there at these (rough maybe but so artistic and innovative) times, countless later generations will feel envy how lucky we all were to experience all these music, films, lives etc and be there among the legends..

Interesting perspective. Usually I see people talking like that about the times past, 80s or 90s. For sure, we're living in interesting times and art reflects that in one form or another. The soundtrack Badalamenti created for Twin Peaks will be with me till I die, sounds bold but it is the truth, it is amazing, just like the series, and is already a part of the 'soundtrack of my life'.

I mean/wanted to express the whole era we lived in, the great golden 80s and its great culture (from metal to synth and aesthetics etc etc.) to the awesome 90s , early 00s but even after harder I think for most globally times after 2008 we (culturally and artistically) live in a golden age/era, especially as you mentioned though 80s-90s people will always think after ages we were lucky to live in.. Tough era as all previous for most of us "regular" people with jobs and problems but still great era of technological marvels and arts .. I dunno if I express my feeling written as I feel it, but to get another example, I feel besides the difficulties in my (like all of us) personal life, I was born in a great era and lived to see the rise of metal and its gods, Iron Maiden etc etc as with other genres that blossomed in this age.. Like movies, how lucky we are that we watched Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive , Lost Highway at their time, or we were there at the technology boom of the Atari 2600, 8bits, 16bits etc, the internet and so many other advances in many sciences, endless literature produced, endless knowledge at our feet .. we have witnessed lots of marvels many legendary people of past times would give everything to know/have witnessed!! Hope I expressed it better this time!
Julee Cruise also departed earlier in the summer this year, listening now to their awesome music and of course watching the movies feels even more nostalgic now that it was already was...

Truly tragic to lose both him and Julee Cruise in the same year. I have spent countless nights listening to the theme from the Fire Walk with Me movie on repeat, and countless other nights listening to theme from the original show on repeat (sometimes both in a single night haha). RIP
