downloadmusic.mortiis.com/album/nden-som-gjorde-oppr-rYes some classic (in the whole sense of the word) Mortiis here, sounds as fresh today although from 95, one of the best if not the best of Mortiis, a classic classic required essential The fact that many of the most highly spoken modern artists lean on this sound speaks of the everlasting legacy and impact of Mortiis! I'd love to see him here on the forums btw, he's active on FB/social media but I'd think he'd appreciate the place and slowness/oldschoolness for his/our age I will say Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør is my favorite of all Mortiis records.

^Yes, as good as his first one was (although the tracks are pretty long), that one is better!

I gotta draw some attention to this project. They're one of my favorite new artists. This recent demo, "Standing at the Gates of Night" is very good. I wanted to release it but was a minute thin, but another great label grabbed it, so hopefully we'll see some tapes sometime soon.

^Yes, as good as his first one was (although the tracks are pretty long), that one is better! Yeah! I have read somewhere that he said, at the time, that everyone was doing those super long tracks but with black metal, so he did the same in his own way. I still love "Født til å Herske" but I think of it more as this kind of introduction to the genre and to his early music, in general. Like, after you sit down and go through that whole album or listen to the whole "...Long Forgotten Ghost..." demo, you have been initiated.

I still love "Født til å Herske" Same here. He just got better with his first several releases.

Welcome elvenwitchcraft , hopefully the signature means you found meaning with DS, I'm sure that's what you meant Welcome! Np Ah, the only era I Mortiis I have on CD. Timelss. So mainstream though X) The signature is the most randomest thing I could find within the field of my peripheral vision. It is obviously a quote from Tolkien/that Burzum's notorious track, and I had it written on the back of an envelope received from the Belarussian Mad Productions in early 2000s You can observe the very envelope and quote dancing to some Ukrainian mainstream bass-n-folk here

Indeed, I had many repeated listens to this few days back, good stuff (only track #3 was not as strong as the rest 3), this artist indeed has a huuuge catalog of releases with many nice things to listen, certainly should be listened by more people!! Really great cover btw, not even needed to mention it.. elvenwitchcraft haha man I felt so bad for those tapes on the floor as the others that fell like playing Jenga, but I'm sure you're not short of tapes n stuff to worry about it Btw crazy channel you've got there @ youtube, its oldschool with so many random homemade videos of the good old youtube days.. Regards!! verimatara I listened to it as well as the others releases of BG but kept getting sidetracked on other stuff I'm afraid, never got into really.. I might retry though sometime, for now my most listened BG release is his demo one.. np Amongst the Death Moon, I Wither by Vaelastraszvaelastrasz.bandcamp.com/album/amongst-the-death-moon-i-witherGreat soothing music here, great quality, 18 minutes track that passes like a breeze.. Of course strongly recommended!

Oh, he has a LOT of support though! I'll be one of them, as I've got one of his early albums on my wishlist. Probably others too eventually, he's got a ton out! Amongst the Death Moon, I Wither by Vaelastrasz I liked him during his Dungeon Siege set last year. Also interesting is that he did a cover of Strawberry Switchblade's "Since Yesterday", making it as dreary as the lyrics. The song itself was waaaay too Euro pop-happy to match the lyrics!

I think the Sharpened Buds Like Lances is more on the ambient side. That is why I think it might be easy to get sidetracked. Something you listen in the background. BG Demo is nice indeed and there is more "dungeon" in that haha. Amongst the Death Moon, I Wither was a beautiful and sad song. Calming melody. I kept wondering where that melody was taking me. The song is trying to stay alive but in the end only the melody is left and it also withers away.

Keloth - Path to KhalimorDreamy, oldschoolish Dungeon Synth. Most of the time nowadays I listen to stuff I already know/own, or recs by friends and places like this. But going for a deep-dive in Bandcamp and finding "hidden" gems like this is the best.
