Anybody score a PS5 for that Demon's Souls remake yet? I'm thinking about just picking up a PS3 on craigslist and squinting until it looks 4k.

Anybody score a PS5 for that Demon's Souls remake yet? I'm thinking about just picking up a PS3 on craigslist and squinting until it looks 4k. Yesterday I was watching MVG's (a really knowledgeable oldschool xbox scener ++ ) review, the bottom line is to probably wait (there's a shortage anyway) for after January.. He did a cool review on PS5 , I think it's very informative in all areas as all of his videos really :
So I probably think you should get a PS3 for now, especially with how unsure I think the whole PS3 compatibility is on PS5 (don't remember exactly but I think there are issues in general, MVG did on this too) In other news I'm slowly advancing Read Ded Redemption 2, now 30+ hours into the game taking my time and enjoying it, it is REALLY a must play, or check... Rockstar as always delivered (fan since GTA 3).. I also regularly still play Diablo 3 (doing GR Rifts with random ppl), Magic the Gathering Arena ( a drug it is..) and some retro gaming as always.. but mostly there atm.. RDR 2 definitely is so much worth of its time and money..

Death Stranding (which I utterly adored, weird avant-garde imagery and delivering the post, what's not to like?) I hated this game. Godawful product placement, glaring holes in the design, tedious and repetitive gameplay, broken mechanics. Couldn't get through, just had to stop because the gameplay was so stupid. Which is a shame, because I really dug the premise and story.

I liked Death Stranding. Currently playing quite a lot of Mount & Blade Warband, exploring some old mods and new ones.

Even as glitchy as it is right now, I have been playing Assassins Creed Valhalla. I really enjoy the 800's vibe & it is inspiring, its just kind of a mess compared to the last one. Still playable however.

I currently returned to one of my all-time favorite games, Imperialism II. It's probably the best 4X strategy game ever made, in my opinion it surpasses even the Civilization series, not mentioning many other lesser titles. It's perfectly balanced, ideally structured mechanically, deep, challenging and elegant, and with the endless replayability.

I just finished Death Stranding within the last week (and platinum'd it on the PS4) and am now playing through both Doom Eternal on the PS4 and Tecmo Bowl for the NES (on my 3DS). Yes, I get that all 3 of those together seem weird lol.

Scored a PS3 on Craigslist for $40. Doesn’t read the hard drive but it has a 12gb flash card and I’m literally only using it to finally play Demon’s Souls. I’m ecstatic. Any other must play games on this system?

Any other must play games on this system? Good deal!!! Certainly worth it imho! Dunno the implications though from the HDD malcunction but since you can use it sounds great.. Now, I 'm kinda late to post it one day, but everyone who has an EPIC account (they've given for FREE countless-no exaggerations) games already and since yesterday they have one each day for 4-5 days, Cities Skylines was yesterday and today a tale from the Oddworld series remastered.. Noone can go wrong by getting some more free masterpieces.. In other news I'm slowly moving on in Chapter 3 of RDR2 and think , taking my time, in about one months time I will have done the main storyline .. Great game, as expected, as great as it can be really.. I have some minor complaints mostly in some choices the game does NOT allow you to make, forcing you into storyline, but then again, no matter how we want it to be, but RDR / gta clones are not RPGs so can't expect different storylines but still, I think that could elevate (some roleplaying) the game from 99% to a total of 100%.. After RDR2 I'm on to Cyberpunk, I think the PC version is alright bugs wise and it should be a GREAT game too..

I'm still pouring hours and hours into Stardew Valley, really digging the recent update to it which adds lots of fun new elements. It is safe to say that SV has been my faming highlight of 2020 and I went into it expecting it to be a fun diversion for perhaps a few hours but so far clocked up nearly 400!
Upon recommendation from my girlfriend I have recently got Undertale which is a wonderful little game, a nice take on the tropes of old school RPGs. No one seems to mention the graphics similarities to the C64 but then most younger gamers these days never experienced the joys of the C64 or the Speccy.

Absolutely loved and sunk 100+ hours into Stardew Valley across my Steam and PS4 accounts. Haven't checked on it in a while, had heard that there was a big update recently. Tried out Undertale about a year ago and thought it was alright, but it didn't seem to be my jam at the time. I still have it installed on the PS4, so maybe i'll re-load the save file at some point. I've actually started playing this game called Unravel, which is a very cute puzzle platformer where you're a cat made of yarn trying to find the woman who knitted you.

I finished Red Dead Redemption 2 about a couple of weeks back.. I really have not enough great words to say about it. As a disclaimer I'm long time fan of GTA games/clones with GTA Vice City and San Andreas being big loves of games for me.. I also more than enjoy Spaghetti Westerns since forever (thanks to Sergio Leone) ... So it was no surprise that I found RDR 2 to be probably in my most enjoyed games of all time.. But really there is so much to it if you enjoy that kind of experience : a great world, a GREAT story (I won't spoil it), great graphics, ambience.. Really I bought a new PC last year to enjoy mainly RDR2,Cyberpunk(yet to buy),Diablo 4(when it's out) and Baldur's Gate 3 (I wait till it's completed and officially launched)... And just for the experience of RDR 2 the new system was totally worth it.. Anyway, I really recommend it to anyone if just for the great atmosphere and depiction/story that is unparalleled imho..

Been playing Oculus Quest games a lot lately. I was way into VR in the early DK1 and DK2 days but unfortunately was unable to afford to keep up with pc vr over the years, but I have to say, despite all the baggage that comes with Facebook, the Quest is pretty amazing. I bought the first Quest when it came out and am still sticking with that for now. I might've mentioned on here before, but Moss is really great and the first thing I'd recommend for DS people.
What really got me engaged recently though is Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. Man, it is the best VR game I've ever played for sure. It's so visceral and satisfying killing the zombies, and the sense of tension and organic jump-scares is just perfect. I've seen some people complain about how fast the stamina drains and the weapons deteriorate, but I think those things are really essential to creating a genuine sense of survival and I think that aspect is great. I beat the main game a while ago and have just been continuing on going around and gathering stuff just to spend more time in that world. I'll definitely be replaying it at some point. I won't complain about the length because it's one of the few VR games I've played that really feels substantial enough to be a complete proper game, but I really wish it was so much longer, maybe even just infinite simple randomized side-quests. It seems like they already sort of had that idea because you'll occassionally encounter NPCs just asking for food and in return they'll provide one of the small resource container things. Considering how successful it was I'm sure there will be a sequel, and I can't wait. Hoping that it leans more toward an open-world sandbox.
Also Eleven Table Tennis is incredible. Feels exactly like actual ping-pong, and I've been enjoying practicing against the AI for a long time now, until I'm confident enough to try multiplayer.
Also used Sidequest to setup Doom, Doom 3, Quake, Half-Life, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I played all through Doom (Brutal Doom) and Quake years ago with my DK1, but using the motion controls is quite a bit cooler than mouse and keyboard. Haven't fully dove into any of those yet, but I'm really impressed with their implementation. Especially Doom 3, surprised that works so well on the Quest.
Played Myst a bit, and the environments are really pretty, but I'm still as dumb with those kinds of puzzles as I ever was. Wonder when someone will make a LucasArts style inventory-object-puzzle adventure game in VR.
Also Red Matter is really great, played it when it first came out and thought it had amazing visuals and atmosphere and pretty approachable but satisfying puzzles (though I did need to look up hints a few times).

I have discovered cloud gaming for myself. I've accumulated a huge pile of games over the last few years that I can't play on my current system and instead of upgrading my system at great expense, I now just stream my games. Sometimes I still have nostalgia flashbacks to the times when I actually held a computer game in a box in my hands, read through the (in the best case beautifully designed) manual and thus owned it in a different way, but those days are long gone anyway due to Steam and co.
At the moment I'm playing Assassins Creed Origins (very nice game) and Valheim. Valheim totally fascinates me at the moment. I have the feeling that everything that makes survival games exciting has been taken away and everything that sucks and is boring has been thrown out.
