Picked this up on Saturday. Banjo Kazooie is one of my favorite games (I've 100%'d everything possible in it) so I was excited for this to come out. More of the true third installment in the BK series but they pretty much just switched out all the licensed stuff that Rare still owns. It's the same crew who made the original games. They kept a lot of the same quirks and it really plays like a BK game but with way better graphics and they added a handful new elements like world expansion, swappable power-ups, mini-games, and there's just more to collect in general. So it's a nostalgia appeasing game but it still fresh enough that it stands on it's own without needing to play the first two BK games. Definitely recommend this everyone (it's not dungeon-y, though, if you even care). It's on like three platforms.

(this is seriously so hard but i love it so much) (my second run-through since i was about 8 years old, so much i don't remember!) (I'd never played it before!) as well as a constant rotation of Elder Scrolls games, mostly Morrowind, for the past 6+ years lol a few others here and there like some old DOS games, Neuromancer, and a ton of KOEI strategy stuff like Romance of the Three Kingdoms etc

What kind of character do you play with Baldur's Gate and which party member is your favourite? Mine are Minsc with his witty one-liners and Dynaheir (because she is just awesome and very useful in combat).

But I'm playing a human undead hunter will skills in healing and flail. I'm only in the second major town so far, can't believe I hadn't delved deeper into this game before

I played a little of Breath of the Wild, the new Zelda game, on a friend's console. It seems really cool. It reminds me of the original Legend of Zelda. It might not be the most traditional Dungeon Synth-y game but I think many Dungeon Synthers would enjoy it. I've played about 10 hours on my friend's switch and I agree. I like it a lot My wife and I have almost completed Breath of the Wild now. It's been non-stop for the past month. This game is huge! We are both completest, so are covering every inch of the map. Even though we are close to the end we could easily keep playing this one for a long-long time. Now that we are able to get to the last castle there are definite dungeony bits.. Really great game, but I'm looking forward to finishing it as I'm getting sick of adventure dreams when I go to sleep! :-P

Just started playing Grim Dawn the other day, and it's been very enjoyable, I love those type of dungeoncrawling games. I've also been playing Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube, which has a very compelling story line with interesting character development. Off and on I'll also play League of Legends, various installments in the Monster Hunter Series, and Wind Waker. My girlfriend is currently addicted to Stardew Valley, which I saw discussed earlier on. Haven't decided if I want to try it out yet, I've never really played a game in that vein before.

I was a backer on kickstarter on Grim Dawn since I had enjoyed another great action(rpg) by the same company, Titan's Quest.. Unfortunately I mad the mistake of playing a little bit in advance of the final release and while I liked it a lot, great game, I had a bug that judging by other posts on the forum there back then was not soon patched.. Ended up droping it off, a shame because it was a great game.. And since we are at Action Rpgs, few months later I uninstalled Diablo 3 which I thoroughly enjoyed and consider to be actually the next best thing in 2-player+ hack n slash since... Golden Axe Great game but huge time sink as it always evolves and changes skills build etc with the pace (or somewhat) of an MMO which I dislike.. Still had great fun.. I also recommend both Torchlight, 1 for a nice Diablo 1 clone and 2 on its own as its a great game.. Check out Path of Exile if you want something more alternative and grim and GOOD but more oldschool and NO CURRENCY there last time I checked which makes some trivial stuff in other games more complex I think..

Path of Exile is a very solid game indeed. The orbs, transmutation stuff and scrolls usually function as currency there, so be sure to keep them in your stash. And what I like about Path of Exile is that there is a lot of room to mess around with your build. The skilltree is massive. In the end of the Summer there will be a big update that adds 5 acts to the game. Now it is that you have to do the same acts 3 or 4 times, but with that update it isn't like that luckily.
Titan Quest was a great Diablo clone as well, same goes for Torchlight I&II. I haven't played Grim Dawn yet, but I have that on my Steam wishlist for a longer time now.

I too thoroughly enjoyed Diablo 3! I am not familiar with either Torchlight or Path of Exile though; I'll have to check those out when I've had my fill of Grim Dawn.

I'm majorly addicted to Minecraft again. Incredible game, deserved all the success. I've been playing since 2009, before there was even terrain generation and it was basically just "creative mode" on a flat patch of grass. No matter how many times I start over it's still fun.

I've been playing it again as well; bought the game originally in 2010 and haven't ever really stopped playing it, just taken some breaks from time to time. It's definitely one of the major classics of computer gaming history already now, IMO. I also love how it is still under development, receiving even major new features every now and then. Such a welcome and wonderful exception in this age of games being released in an unfinished state, getting patched up to be mostly finished and then all support ends. Alternating with Minecraft, I'm playing Orcs Must Die! 2. Another great game, I love the endless mode and am tweaking my strategies on my favorite maps to reach waves in excess of the 50th. Too bad a single session can take up to three or four hours!

Nintendo mini classic... I am so happy right now to have one It looked cute, but is there a pull to having one other than it being an official emulation console? Seems making a retro pi is a much easier way to go, especially considering the aftermarket for the mini classic stuff Nintendo's releasing and how difficult they are to obtain.

Have been playing a lot of this recently. I've beaten the first game and I'm on the second one now. The first game is at like 82% completition, but I probably won't go for 100% because it takes so much practice to get some stuff right for the time trials and gems. From what I've read, they kept the games pretty identical to the originals. Only additions are that you can play as your sister and the updated graphics. It's extremely well done, but the only gripe people seem to have is that they used the mechanics of the 2nd and 3rd games for the 1st game, stuff like hit boxes for standing on ledges; originally, you could have your foot on like one pixel of a ledge and it'd count as standing on it and you wouldn't fall off, but now you slip. There's also momentum needed for longer jumps that originally wasn't needed in the first game. I still think it's really enjoyable, but I could see how the difficulty of the 1st game would turn some people off. It's pretty hard. I only played the first original game once before at my cousin's house when I was like 8 years old on a small TV, so I don't have the best memory of the game or could tell the difference in play mechanics, but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone new or who used to play Crash games on the ps1.
