olofdigre ah, maybe I misunderstood the basis of the project. I thought it was like putting a bunch of DS albums in general, not just our own works, into a randomizer, or hat, and then we each review what is pulled for us. This is just our own stuff, randomly reviewing each other's work. I do have quite a bit of my own work on bandcamp for multiple projects. I'm admitedly less interested in this premise than random reviews of any DS album, but I do suppose this project would be more helpful for those involved. I think I might still be up for it, though. As far as blogs are concerned, I'm far too busy to have another thing to maintain, I'd advocate for someone else. Wordpress would be a good platform, though.

Can I be in as myself, The Keeper? How are we going about the album roulette? There's a lot on BC, only ways I see it functioning is various people requesting albums to be added to the pool, or we go through BC and just write down/type out albums, EPs, and demos to go into a randomizer. This might work under something kaptaincarbon and I were discussing called The Vault. It'd be part of a forum here with like featured albums of choosings, various other functions. I think this review roulette may work within The Vault if we don't want to create a separate blog for this (it'd also give us a reason to actually set up The Vault), but I suppose it doesn't really matter. Blog might get more traffic, or maybe not since it'd be another site for people to follow. Inner Circle sounds a bit cliquey. What about "Neath Torchlight", in reference to the Lord Lovidicus song "Deciphering Scorched Parchment Neath Torchlight"? Kind of similar to what we'd be doing, looking into DS albums in a dark den. I really like this Vault idea. I vote for whichever approach would allow for that. And I also am not so enthusiastic about the "Inner Circle" name.

I scrapped the Inner Circle the moment I thought it out aloud and realized it was a Reggae Band. So far it is called Neath Torchlight and will probably be found at wordpress. The Vault idea is great and would work for a more permanent solution. This project is just for now and we will see how it goes before we decide to do it again. How about I do the randomized assignment this Sunday?

Just reading these over, I would love to get the Vault up and running and have a collection of DS reviews by DS musicians. So the vault would be lots of these types of titles:
Chaucerian Myth - Troilus and Criseyde (2017) reviewed by Dirge.
I think it would be cool to have a collection of DS written by other DS members. I do not have anything to offer but I can certainly organize things into the vault. Were you all planning a full review (multiple paragraphs) or just blips on Bandcamp pages?

I'm happy with Neath Torchlight. Also, if no one else wants to manage the blog, I can help with that.
What release date are we going for? Maybe the release of the first issue of the review (assuming there will be others) could coincide with the release of the Summer Compilation?

Summer comp is released on the SOlstice? that may be enough time to really sit with an album for a bit.

This sounds like a neat idea, I would like to join in. However, since my time is quite limited, I can't be always here and participate much, but if I can go with doing, let's say, one or two reviews per month, I can totally manage that right now.

Please get that Vault up and running. It sounds great. And do you plan to archive all dungeon synth related reviews and news there or just from forum members? We will make this Secret Dungeon Synth Review and drop it all on a blog and maybe do it again and also provide the results for the vault.

Oh this will firstly be just for this one occasion and if there is a demand we will do it again i think. This sunday I will put all names in a bad and then pull them out in a random order. I will film this and post the video and results here. That will make a list where everyone get assigned to review another artist. Then we will have until midsummer (24 juni) to make a review for that assigned artist latest bandcamp release. And it will be posted here through the vault but also on a blog page called Neath Torchlight .

In that case, if you will have me, I would love to participate.

I'd love to participate!
Also, I think it would be best if reviews were not critical, but descriptive in nature. What you may find bad could be something that someone else loves, so what does it serve to write a bad review? You don't have to force praise, but I feel like going in to detail about what the album is/sounds like would be much more productive for this particular idea. After all, we don't want to discourage someone who might actually like an album from listening to it just because it's not something we enjoy.

Can I still participate in this?? I would love to get some honest feedback on the new Cryptic Dungeon album I just put up.
