Registered last week, but Hello everyone! Been into the scene for a while now. My introduction was Mortiis, & the Burzum synth albums. Some might know me as "Ivan Baconator Jaeger" on Facebook, or Mrr080t0 on Instagram. are you running one or more synth projects as well? welcome anyway! Thank you toodarkpark (Great name by the way!), & Stormcrow! Haha No, no projects on my end, I'm just a fan.

Hello folks. Found this thread link in another introducion thread, thought I'd use this instead of making a new one.
I'm a Swedish synth nerd hailing from Oslo, Norway and I just recently came across this dungeon synth stuff. To keep it short, I love it! I'm not really a metal dude (as in, I don't listen much to it), but I like dark ambient (s/o Cryochamber!) and synth stuff in general, both new and old. I make music myself, but it's more bass heavy things like footwork/juke, d&b, dubstep, deep techno and the likes. As of now I don't have any projects that would fall under the dungeon synth label, but I think I'm gonna try my hands on it.
Cheers, hope you're all good. /Kim
EDIT: I would suggest to make this thread a sticky if it's not already, to make it easier for new members to find it. Maybe put it in The Living Room too. This would probably minimize the number of introduction threads members make.

Hey everyone!
I'm a big metal/dungeon synth fan studying in Lincoln (UK). I've been looking for a good place to talk about/get recommendations for good dungeon synth for ages and here looks perfect for just that.
Anyway, I don't know what else to say. Nice too meet you all in any case!

I noticed this forum was a little inactive but the posts I've seen are just the perfect tone for me personally. I don't mind waiting a day or so for a good reply. Seems like people here are very welcoming and open to sharing their knowledge, which you really don't get on Facebook. I don't know why but people seem to be nicer when their real names aren't attached to their comments for some reason lmao. *Knocks Dorito crumbs from Blasphemy shirt* Oh, um... INFERNAL HAILS, WARBROTHER.

Welcome, shalashaska. The forum has its ups and downs in activity, a little more up the past week. All depends on the state of the world, I guess! More people locked in simultaneously means more posting and less posting due to people's minds being on other matters. Enjoy your stay!

Lots of good discussion, healthy debate and respect for other members. All of that is exactly what I want from a good forum. I've tried to interact as much as I can but I don't want to make it seem like I'm flooding ever discussion with replies lmao. In any case, I'm interested in sticking around!

Hello everyone, greetings from Kassel, in the middle of Germany. I interpret this thread here as an introduction thread and would like to introduce myself to you here instead of creating a new thread.
I was socialised into the metal scene as a teenager, but until a few years ago I didn't get into the quieter, atmospheric yet dark side of the genres associated with metal. I have the feeling that the older I get, the more I appreciate the quieter sides of dark music.
For almost exactly a year now, I have been working with synthesizers - both analogue and digital - and with music production (also because of the pandemic and the resulting change in my life).
Inspired by people like Erang (nice to have you on the forum!) and Francis Roberts, I dared to create my own music. It's not really Dungeon Synth, but rather a mixture of Dungeon Synth, Dark Ambient and Black Metal, but I like it a lot.
Apart from making music, I'm mainly studying at the moment. Unfortunately, that takes up a bigger part of my life than I would like it to. Other hobbies are falling by the wayside at the moment. If I had the time, however, I would write more stories and poems and - actually - do some sports.
So, that's enough of me babbling. I'm glad I found this forum and look forward to a good exchange!

Hello! I am a newcomer to the genre and have fallen in love with Dungeon Synth deeply. I've got a start on my physical collection, and I would love to make music and one day run a tape label! I'm a massive vinyl/cassette collector and love metal music/all types of music.

Hey tasteofbeer, welcome to the forum (and everyone else of course!)! Glad you feel the same for DS, I think most of us had a huge "WHERE WAS THIS GENRE HIDDEN ALL THESE YEARS" kind of revelation experience when discovering DS, glad the genre is continually evolving and getting bigger! And most of people indeed have huge metal background so lots of great metal (and almost every genre of music) suggestions to discover here!! Regards!!

Hello there everyone, long time listener of Dungeon Synth. First time trying my hand at the genre myself so I joined the forums mostly as a way to pick people's brains on my own burgeoning project. Heavily influenced by more Lo-Fi projects like Longsword, Coniferous Mysts, and Magic Find and influenced by Power Electronics artists like Genocide Organ, Deathpile, and Bacillus I'm definitely trying to experiment within the confines of the genre. Sample of my work, recorded off of my phone. Once I get back to my practice space I'll try and upload some full tracks!

This demo snippet is very promising, I want a lot more of this. Can’t wait to hear a more fleshed our version.

Hello and greetings from the Netherlands. Been keeping my eye on this forum for some years now, a great place to get to know about all kinds of musical gems. I started listening to metal (mostly Metallica and Fear Factory) in the 90's, and around 1998 I really discovered black metal (all the usual suspects from the Norwegian scene). And it was great to start exploring and collecting as many great releases as possible.
Nowadays I not nearly buy as much anymore, but still try to pick up the gems. Apart from metal I also like dark-electro, dark-wave, ebm, (neo)classical, and movie and videogame soundtracks. Like many I've been listening to Dungeon Synth before that term even existed. But there's so much to still explore for me, it almost feels like those old times again when I was diving into the world of black metal and be amazed by the huge amount of talented musicians out there, waiting to be discovered.
I started to experiment with music around 2012, buying a cheap guitar and keyboard and just having fun trying to create something and just test and play with countless sample libraries and soft-synths. But it wasn't until late 2019 when I felt I could actually give it a shot and try to compose some real songs instead of all the short sketches I made in the years before. And so my project Landstrykar was born. I don't know if my music can be categorized under DS, but to be honest I don't really care about labels. It's a mixture of orchestral sounds and atmospheric/ambient synth parts that create a more uplifting feeling than a dark atmosphere.
Good to be here on the forum and looking forward to discuss some cool topics, and keep discovering!

Hey everyone! I've recently been getting back into listening to new music (mostly metal and post-industrial stuff) and discovered dungeon synth along the way. Once I found there was a forum for it I figured I would stop by. I'm also a musician (though somewhat out of practice) and am thinking about starting up a small DS project sometime in the near future, which I'll be sure to share here if it comes to fruition! I'll be hanging around here either way.
