Classic dungeon-grind. Always loved the cover. Finally getting into some Judas Iscariot albums I never got around to. Cold stuff.

Finally getting into some Judas Iscariot albums I never got around to. Cold stuff. Judas Iscariot has been one of my favorites since first getting into black metal. For some reason I really love how sloppy the guitars are. I think this works particularly well in this case because there's often two guitars playing the same riff, so when one of them deviates it sounds really interesting without throwing it off. Distant in Solitary Night and Of Great Eternity are my favorite albums, largely because of those ambient-ish tracks without drums like "The Clear Moon, and the Glory of the Darkness" and "... I Filled With Woes the Passing Wind..." That stuff had a very strong influence on my own music at the time. I also really like To Embrace Corpses Bleeding, but for different reasons, basically just every track gets me pumped and headbanging.

Excellent riffs and atmosphere, I should get back into this more

now listening to last Panopticon's double album. 2-hours masterpiece of MUSIC, best 2018 Metal release so far. Sorry for the others, there's no challenge here.

I need to check out this release. I'm not familiar with their (his) previous albums, I have listened to them briefly some time ago, but this new stuff litterally blew me out. Anyway, mind the difference between part I and II: the first one is a wonderful atmospheric black metal album, the second is 100% acoustic, really well made americana / country folk.

I got into him in high school through his album Kentucky, which alternates between atmospheric black metal and bluegrass tracks. I would check out the previous works for sure.
