I really like the graph. You could probably get rid of a few and/or combine some.
Ambient Drone Folk Medieval Classical Epic/Symphonic Cinematic Experimental
I feel like these categories could describe just about everything out there.

I especially enjoy the interviews. A good subject for one would be Erdstall, given nobody has clue what happened to him or whether or not he will release new music. It's the Abandoned Places guy (Loremaster, Mystic Towers, Zweilicht, Siliniez). He stopped doing AP, but considering he made a new Mystic Towers release after he ended AP, maybe he'll do more for Erdstall. I have a feeling he won't, but I hope I'm wrong. And I thought I was crazy for feeling like the art of Erdstall and Mystic Towers had similar layout choices. Is that guy on the FB page? (or here?)

Wonderful work. I got to admit, the new Verminaard album is all that I've listened to so far on this list. Glancing through now, I definitely got to get caught up on all of this.

It was a good read, I only listened to the ElixiR, Verminaard and Evilnox so far. The Silmarillion Symphony sound very interesting, will have a listen to it later.

Boss the Ross and I did a shared Top 10 on each site for a Favorite Dungeon Synth of 2016. there were some overlap covering around 15 albums plus a dozen or so mentions. Thanks to everyone on this list who frequents here. Your music is pretty cool. Hollywood Metal

Great digest as usual. Did I miss the honing of the Castle/Crypt/Cottage thing? It's a great idea for differentiation for this genre, and gets at some of the narrative details of the music, too.

Great digest as usual. Did I miss the honing of the Castle/Crypt/Cottage thing? It's a great idea for differentiation for this genre, and gets at some of the narrative details of the music, too. Hahah, its something that I have been working on for the Reddit Primer which initially started out with three types of sounds I noticed in newer music. Also when people were looking for dungeon synth they usually made mention I want things that sound like a crypt and not tavern music. I think the Cottager section is the largest section as it is somewhat in between. Thus far there are these three descriptions THE CRYPT: Dark and atmospheric. The sound of footfalls on stone floors with the stale air of death cutting through the inky blackness of winding passageways.
THE CASTLE: Light and Orchestral. The sound of court being held or the quiet contemplation by manicured gardens. Ethereal and regal in tone as well as thought. Stately and wise.
THE COTTAGE: Hazy & Magical. The sound of the frontier between the civilized and the unknown. It is everything between the Castle and the Crypt, between life and death itself.I want to develop this more mainly for recommendations and introductions for new people, perhaps start them at the Cottage (also looking for another C word like Cabin or something) and then send them to the Castle or Crypt depending on their interest.

Nice read again, I love that D&D image! There are already plenty of good releases already. And it seems you are going to have a busy year with all those resolutions.

Dungeon Synth Digest XXI
Faery Ring, Chaucerian Myth, Forest Wanderer, Det Svarta Landet, Utred, Vaelastrasz plus some really wild stuff including a demo from the dungeon noise sub sub genre. I feel that it is the home team, just a really horrid looking hometea,

Great publication! Thanks for the shoutout to my project and keep up the good work!
Edit: I think you may have made a typo in the introductory paragraphs where you say "curse of things" but might have meant "course of things" but I could be wrong. I just thought I'd point it out
