Sleestak is proud to announce that the CD and digital pre-order for the new album Harbinger is now live! The first four tracks are currently available to stream and the CDs are limited to 100 only. The songs on Harbinger highlight the band's evolution, song writing maturation, and ultimate love for experimentation and genre-hopping. While there are a few Sabbathy arrangements thrown in for good measure, the attentive listener will be rewarded with doomy folk, ethereal psychedelic synth passages, soul-crushing guitar riffs, along with some of the most emotional material Sleestak have written to date. sleestak.bandcamp.com/album/harbinger

Although having wandered through numerous metal genres during my life, doom metal has been my "default" genre of all for the last 15 years or so. More precisely, trad. and epic doom have been my nr 1 choices. Trouble is my all time fav, especially the first 4 albums are all perfect, and of the newer albums Simple Mind Condition rocks too. Other bands in my personal top list are Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass, Memory Garden and Memento Mori. I used to listen to various other doom- & doom-related subgenres in a broader scale as well, especially all kinds of stoner/fuzz/impro-jamming stuff, but as people and things change, over the years my preferences have narrowed down quite a bit. There'd be more to talk about than I'd nowadays have energy for, so I'll keep it brief for now. =) Here are some personal highlights from my favs:
EDIT: Oh, and ofc I've been having my own epic doom solo project bubbling under for several years as well. So far I've got 6 songs fully composed and arranged and ready for final recordings (+ a couple of other songs still developing), but we'll see when I get into finishing at least the debut album. So many projects and active hobbies in addition to work and all, and so little time, heh. =D

I just saw on Bandcamp that Khanate have a new album out, their first since 2009's Clean Hands Go Foul (I dont think I ever heard that one). This has come as quite a surprise to me and I expect I will check it out. Their 2001 self titled debut album is hard to beat. I saw them live in Bristol in 2005, still one of the most intense live musical experiences I ever had!
