So I was having some other stuff made and this came up as an option and I had to have one made. So this is the only one of these in existence, but it's super comfy and i'm glad I had it made.

I have made the decision to make every single release on Bandcamp free to download. If anyone wants to spend money, that's great, but i'm going to leave everything that is currently up there at no cost. I have, as well, made all individual tracks for everything released from 2019 til now available for individual download, so if you ever wanted one singular track, now you can get it. There is more stuff coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned! thebackwardsfuneral.bandcamp.com/music

Were you on the doom metal forum back in the day? It's definitely a sound that's been embedded in me for over a decade, even if I barely listen to Funeral Doom anymore. There was for sure a period of time where I was in love with the sound and regularly spent time with stuff like Skepticism, Evoken, Dolorian, Tyranny, Esoteric, etc. And yeah, I was on the Doom Metal forums semi regularly up until a few years ago. Did reviews for the page as well for a number of years, but I don't think i've offered to review anything since maybe 2019 when I was starting to listen to less and less of the styles. Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I have a similar story, haven't been quite as much into funeral doom for the past while. Well i did go see evoken and esoteric like five years ago or something. You remember any of those funeral doom influenced ambient records that came out around like 04? Like around nothingness and nulll records.

There were a number of bands during that time that I checked out because I was infatuated with the Doom aura for several years so I just took in a whole lot of different acts and styles, but at this point there's only a handful that I held onto that I occasionally get interest in revisiting. The reviewing side did introduce me to some really good, lesser known acts like Septic Mind, Mare Infinitum, Morito Ergo Sum, Ixion, Ocean of Ghosts & Wijlen Wij. I did get to partake in a multi-person interview with the Skepticism frontman as well, which was super cool.

What's old is new again. After a long break, i've returned to the realm of creativity to start composing new Backwards Funeral material. This time around we've started slipping a bit more into the realms of dark ambient, drone and a little bit of noise. If you like to chill and space out, this might be for you!The Great FallBeyond the Stars
