If you don't mind I'll copy & paste my last post on the DS FB page, I guess it will give you some explanations about this upcoming album : " As some of you already know, the Kingdom of Erang and the Land of the Five Seasons take place over several timeline and alternate realities.
With this album, I've explored the atmosphere of the Natives & the Old West.
Of course, this is absolutely not an historic album and I don't pretend to represent anything from the Native culture. However, I deeply respect them and within my family, we always had a strong appreciation toward their culture: it means something to us.
This is a fantasy interpretation of this special piece of history, melted with the places & characters from my personal lore.
As usual, you can expect something intimate & slightly experimental at the same time: the roots of the Kingdom are strong so the tree branches can grow far away...
As far as I know, this cultural period hasn't been very explored in Dungeon Synth so I hope this album will take you to Another Place, Another World... " |

It's good to see a venerable figure such as Erang posting on Proboards. I really like what I've heard so far, sounds very Erang, but more polished. You have a very hi-fi aesthetic, which is a unique contrast to a lot of other DS artists out there. Your tone seems interesting in that regard, and I love how you're not afraid to go out of your comfort zone. I'll be looking forward to this one for sure.

Thanks poppet108 ! I love lowfi DS and I've done many lowfi tracks myself : I might return to lowfi one day as well, I don't have any plans. However with this album I thought that a more "hifi" sound would fit the atmosphere better. The thing is, since 2012, I've released many albums so I need sometimes to take new musical paths to add new sounds to my DS. I don't know if it's a wise decision considering that "proper medieval DS" is increasing in popularity right now but I don't look at things like that: I always follow my path, my feelings and my heart... So I hope that this Native/Old West DS album will find its way to the people and take them on another journey within the Kingdom of Erang... who knows... |

Really liking the 2nd teaser track. Emotionally evocative and it's still "Erang". I like the chime passage at the 1:40 mark. It's hi-fi but not [too] much, maybe 'mid-fi', ha.

Thanks guys! My 2nd teaser didnt get much commentaries so far on the Facebook DS group so I'm glad to have some written feedback here.
Currently working on the 3rd and last extract from the upcoming album before its release. Will post a Youtube link very soon...

Your style of electronic music is much more than DS/ambient or underground stuff like that, it's definitely stage-screen music! I loved King of nothing and love this "single" as well. Diffirent concept, but your styling is still recognizable here.

I'm trying hard to NOT listen before I purchase, since I'll get it for sure and thus I prefer to go blind into it, such releases are definitely worth it!! So sorry for no feedback Erang but I want to enjoy it on release and I'm sure there are others too who are thinking the same!!  Any thoughts for release period ? June hopefully ? |
