What are some of your favourite examples where dungeon synth songs/artists use different time signatures. 3/4 is quite common so anything that isn't 3 or 4.
Chaucerian Myth - The Millers Tale

There really isn't a lot that comes to mind for tracks outside of 4/4 or 3/4. I guess 6/4 probably crops up in places, but time signatures are something I notice much less in electronic/synth music than in more standard rock setup or guitar music. Argonath and CM are definitely two where I notice time signature variation, but I think that's because you both have used some particularly interesting ones and you're both pretty compositionally focused so some time signatures become apparent when nonstandard. Abandoned Places and his related projects comes to mind, too. I want more with 5/8 or 7/8.

When done well it can pay off. I havent heard Abandoned Places properly so I'll be sure to check it out now.

In my next album, there will be a song with a 7/8 riff. Stay tuned!

I'd be keen to hear more odd timings too. I experimented a bit with 7/8 (or is it 7/4..I don't know the difference) in the intro for the this song. Anyway seems like a fairly unexplored path for DS...

I can find 7/8 but then I get a bit lost Yeah you're right, It starts in 7/8 then goes to 4/4 for a moment and then 6/8. But if you add it all together it totals 27 beats per measure, hence the name. I honestly don't know how you would notate that though

Many a fine castle at Conwy. From Cardiff, the far south originally. Actually my IP address which I'm sure you can see will probably reveal I'm a lot further south these days...but the history and traditions of Wales remains an inspiration for my muzak. I think I've just confessed to being a 'location liar'.

Chaucerian Myth - The Millers Tale The only one that I've particularly noticed was "Quarrel With a Giant" by you - what with the 70s keyboard sound I wondered if it was inspired by Gentle Giant and after seeing your bass playthrough video I guess it was! I'm working on a cover of a track that alternates between 5/4 and 4/4 at the moment, but maybe I'll get weirder with 7/4 or 9/8 on a new track! I've always struggled with playing odd time signatures "live" but maybe seeing it scrolling past on the DAW will help...
