Greetings all! I am in need of aide of some sort in helping me find a good recording software. I used GarageBand for a while, but the laptop I had it on broke and I can't get GarageBand on my computer because it's not a Mac. The software I would use needs to be MIDI-compatible.

I like Reaper. Not the most powerful DAW, but it's quite easy to use.

I'd recommend Cubase Elements 7. Very intuitive layout and great built-in effects/vsts.

Been using Mixcraft Pro Studio for years (started with M6, now I'm using M8) and still feeling confortable with it. Basically a Garage Band shoot-off, but for Windows, and way cheaper than Cubase or Protools. Outstanding selection of bundled plugins, too.

I've not had much experience with other DAWs but I love this one.
