A month ago I finally saw the Cure live after waiting for 8+ years, and they were amazing. Their music is a big part in my life somehow, I grew up with it and I listen almost daily to their music. Lately my favourite is Faith.
The Sisters of Mercy are good as well, on album. I saw them live in 2013 in Amsterdam and I was so disappointed, they didn't even have a bassist... And it felt like Andrew was mimicking himself. There is a project from Andrew called the Sisterhood, they have only one album. The song Colours is on the Floodland album of Sisters of Mercy as bonustrack.
And don't forget about 'the queen' Siouxsie! I wish my hair would be as cool as hers, but mine falls flat after a few minutes already.
Hey, this is great! I had never heard of She Past Away before, I like it! I'll admit I kind of just tune out of most newer things that get labeled as goth rock because, well, they typically aren't goth rock because media likes to label anything darker than normal as goth. This is excellent stuff though.
Well, I already posted Fields of the Nephilim in the other thread, so here's what I've been listening to today. Also falls under the deathrock umbrella, but I think it fits the discussion.
"I am a knight of Solamnia. I am the hand of Paladine, of Kiri-Jolith and of Habbakuk on this world. You are on Krynn. You are mine, Queen of Darkness."
Blessure Graves is pretty cool, definitely carrying on the Joy Division torch.
I never listened to the Damned much but I probably should. What song would recommend?
Anybody listen to She Past Away? Some of the best new goth rock stuff I've heard.
The others here will suggest the Damned's punk stuff, but personally my money is on their goth rock period. So "Wait for the Blackout" (an excellent mix of punk and goth rock) or the massive "Curtain Call" are my suggestions.

Catastrophe Ballet is great, but for me Only Theatre of Pain is way better than anything else the band ever produced. One of my favourite post-punk albums is Brighter Than a Thousand Suns by Killing Joke. The Comsat Angels and Crispy Ambulance are also excellent bands worth checking out.
In a Lonely Place are a modern post-punk band (named after one of the best Joy Division songs) who have put out some promising stuff so far, all of which is available for free on their Bandcamp page. I recommend starting with their release called Mess.
I'm currently the guitarist of Jesus Fix, a gothic metal/punk band from Kent in the UK that has been around since the early 90s. I was a friend and promoter of the band and joined as guitarist in about 2010, after their previous guitarist left.
I always describe the music as a cross between Killing Joke, Motorhead and The Cult.
