This is a good album, nice old-school sound, a lot like Siouxsie and the Banshees. And here's a new one I love. It's quite poppy, so may not be to everyone's taste here, but it's so excellent imo. Her last album was really great as well. dkarecords.bandcamp.com/album/holding-on

A woman at work showed me Second Still a few months ago. Fairly orthodox goth post-punk stuff but very well executed and classic. This Sally Dige song is excellent. Can't quite put my finger on what it reminds me of. I want to say early Depeche Mode but that's too easy, though the vocal melodies are similar.

Probably one of my all time favorite post-punk/goth rock/new-wave albums:
Constantly played this tape in my truck in high school.

I like Killing Joke. I've been listening to Night Time for a few years now. I only really like half the songs on there, but I like those tracks a LOT. I think I've listened to this album before, but I definitely need to give it more listens and let it sink in more.

Check out Zastave by Paraf from my country. They started as great punk rock and ended with this awesome post punk album.

Killing Joke & The Cure are my main Post-Punk loves, but some stuff from New Model Army & Love and Rockets is awesome. I should explore the genre more at some point. Also, i'm guilty of enjoying Killing Joke more as they started implementing more Industrial Rock/Metal elements, but I still love stuff like "Night Time", "Brighter Than a Thousand Suns", the debut and even some of the stuff on the (Jaz solo album) "Outside the Gate".

I'm currently the guitarist of Jesus Fix, a gothic metal/punk band from Kent in the UK that has been around since the early 90s. I was a friend and promoter of the band and joined as guitarist in about 2010, after their previous guitarist left. I always describe the music as a cross between Killing Joke, Motorhead and The Cult. jesusfix.bandcamp.com/You had a blog right? It was interesting. For me, Bauhaus were the most important

I like Bauhaus but I find them to be very inconsistent. It's hard for me to sit through a whole album of theirs without skipping tracks, but they definitely have a bunch of amazing songs. I really like this one:

Yeah, same for me. Bauhaus is for me a prime example of a "best of band", eg. the type of band who have enough awesome material in their discography to fill a CD, but no single album really does it for me.

Yeah, same for me. Agree, lots of their dub or kraut influenced songs are plain boring. But they have a one CD material that was really influential back in real time, for reason. Hit and miss albums, it is the same with most of the bands, for instance that Paraf album above is all on the same lavel of quality yet it is still so underated. That's how it goes. Again, Bauhaus made enough trully ground breaking songs that their unique style defined a genre, yet you can't find many Bauhaus clones.

I'd heard of this band, but never listened to them until now. Interesting sound.

Rosetta Stone is a band I've wanted to get into for a long time, I've heard a lot of random tracks and usually enjoy them but haven't pursued it further.
The Wake is another band in that category for me. I think this song is pretty great:
(which I'm reminded of because it says "Rosetta Stone Mix" but I don't know what that means)

French Β« cold wave Β» as we called it. The cheap keyboards have a pretty pre-DS flavour
