garvalf, I haven't checked if its still up, but I have a few hundred of the MIDI files from a torrent. Fantastic composition, really creative stuff for the span of moods and themes.

I have something like 400 files in this archive. There are probably more. I like how with simple instruments such as basic General Midi the composer managed to composed something with such a strong identity.
It somehow reminds me of Monkey's Island:

I loved the music in Secret of Monkey Island. I really enjoy MIDI sounds in general. I've only played all the way through once but have probably played the first half hour's worth like twenty times.

I agree, Gothic musics are awesome, and the games are great too. I've just found this remake of a classic C64/Amstrad game (Cauldon), it sounds rather DS to me: This is great, in fact Arden composer used Cauldron as great inspiration for his album A Journey Through Darkness, and even created a production label called Cauldron Music in its honour. Great soundtrack!

Great soundtrack! yes, I know this whole story. We even played this Cauldron game on his Amstrad CPC when I had the honor to meet him almost 20 years ago!

Iron Lord's music on Amstrad CPC is also one of the most inspirational things I've ever heard.

I suppose that was around the time journey Through Darkness was released? How crazy to think that now that kind of work has some sort of renaissance after all this time?

It was some years after Journey through darkness was released, I don't know how many. Around 1999 or 2000 I remember now. So yes, less than 20 years, more 17-18 years ago.
I've played Soul Reaver on PS2, but I didn't remember the musics were so nice. Thanks.

The intro music is fantastic, and there are some great tracks there. There's also a few fantastic tracks on Soul Reaver 2 worth checking out too
