Is it possible to edit artist details?
Also, is there a way to view the backlog so that we don't end up submitting an album/artist that has already been submitted by someone else?

Is it possible to edit artist details? Also, is there a way to view the backlog so that we don't end up submitting an album/artist that has already been submitted by someone else? For the first question, right now the answer is 'no, not yet.' Only because it would be chaotic to have anyone edit any of information. We have plans for this, and it'll most likely be incorporated into the point system, much like metal-archives. In the future we may have a feature for flagging changes as well, but there needs to be more discussion on this. As of right now, the best way is to email us or to send us a message on Facebook for any change you want. We'll most likely edit it ASAP. For the second question, backlog is only viewable by admins at the moment. If you think there may be a duplicate entry, you can check the letter of the artist you want to submit. If for some reason there IS a duplicate entry, it'll be taken care of by the admins and most likely consolidated into one. Thanks for taking an interest... This stuff is a lot of work especially when it's not a paying job, lol.

Thanx for keeping us updated arilius, I really need to register there, I always regret never registering at Encyclopedia Metallum baaaaaaaaaaaaaack then and still never registered really The addition of reviews was much needed and I think this will help lots and lots of people discover and listen to more DS... Nice! Glad you like the addition of reviews! We're hoping people use this feature.

How do you add artists or albums?

How do you add artists or albums? You have to register first. To add an artist, click the letter of the artist's name. There's a little green + symbol and you click that which will bring you to the screen. The same plus + button should be on the artists pages for albums.

Great site! I love the idea and remember thinking years ago "why has no one made an archive for dungeon synth?" If only I could have known lmao. I'll absolutely try to contribute the data from all my physical releases sometime.

The site has its flaws and we have a list of ideas, changes, etc. There hasn't been an update in months and for that I apologize. This site may be a slow burn for a little while but it'll get there, I hope.

This site may be a slow burn for a little while but it'll get there, I hope. These things always start off small and janky, don't worry! I'm sure with enough time and attention, the Codex will grow into something that rivals Metal Archives in it's level of detail and completeness. I certainly want something like this to really take off because sometimes it's really difficult to find information or even just complete listings of a band's work. I've used Discogs and RYM in the past to help track bands I like but MA is just so much nicer and cleaner to use; generally it's more accurate too. Again, I'm really excited to see this and I'm sure it'll slowly blossom into something much larger than anyone can predict.

Is the codex still going strong? I'm getting a 505 error.

I kind of forgot about the Codex to be honest, but browsing through a bit just now I am thinking it is such a good resource for finding overlooked stuff. I am putting it with my main bookmarks to remind me to peruse it more often. I thought I already said this somewhere, but not in this thread so maybe I never did... but I was hoping for something like an Encyclopedia Metallum of DS for many years before the Codex came along, so thank you very much arillius and everyone else who made that possible and keeps it going.
