Hmm.. As a Greek I'd definitely like to see some more of Greek/Roman inspired stuff.. But out of the top of my head - the very recent one from Sidereal Fortress - Odyssey (strongly recommended!) .. (Stormcrow's project) - another great gem is 2017's Golden Fleece - "The Journey To Colchis".. - I'd also include Andrew's Valscharuhn - Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is of course related to Ancient Greece thematically and is a classic imho.. I'm pretty f sure there has to be more of Greek themed stuff but nothing actually comes to mind besides the above.. Some stuff comes to mind but soundwise I couldn't connect the dots.. There are also more than a few greek Dungeon Synth artists but I can't also remember a record themed after ancient Greek themes.. Though again, I may forget .. Arthuros I think definitely is kinda inspired by Mount Olympus stuff If I've got it right.. You should also definitely check some ancient themed music , there must be a specific thread with recommendations around here on that specific.. Hopefully some more people add up to the knowledge base Nice thanks for those, I will give them a listen! With all the medieval/fantasy inspired music I feel this is an avenue that could see great potential in the future for inspiration.

Was wondering if there was any good DS explicitly inspired by ancient Greek or Roman music/myths? Maybe I have overlooked some releases but I feel as though that is an area that could be a great inspiration. I know I have been looking into the area for future projects myself. Can't go wrong with Bacchia Neraida if you want some Greek stuff. It's a little different than most DS, weird vocals and full keyboard drum kit going on, but it's well within the realm. Here's the classic:

I need some new ds in my life. I've recently enjoyed Isegrimm, Paths of the eternal, Questmaster and Vangar, so anything similar to those would be highly appreciated.

For Isegrimm, he has done a split with Argonath ("Foreign Fantasy"), really excellent stuff too so definitely that's a solid passage there For Questmaster, if you're into chiptune DS (one of my favorites) have you already listened to HDK's chiptune stuff (Kobold,Basic Dungeon,1KB Dungeon,Gnoll and more)? Blood Lord's album is GREAT(along with both of Quest Master are some of the best in the genre), Digre has also lots of great stuff - strongly recommended, as well as you should absolutely listen to Warduke, Book of Skelos.. Also, Dughpa is an obvious choice although his tags are "dark.ambient" not even dungeon.synth not chiptune, I find his stuff very VERY close to the chiptune area really - excellent stuff! There are also lots of great NYP bandcamp stuff that have slipped under the radar which I will try to dig up soon hopefully! Be sure to check out the Chiptune FB page here : www.facebook.com/pg/chiptunedungeonsynth/ (dunno who keeps it but it has enough recs but not a lot of user posts - no drama at least- good to keep an eye on). For Paths of the Eternal (indeed great stuff indeed too) I find it hard to think at the moment something that can be in the exact same vein, but I think probably stuff with dense epic atmosphere will be the answer! As for Vangar, I liked "The Forgotten King" he released but thought of the praise was kinda overrated but I want to listen to his first release so I have a more complete opinion, nice that you reminded me of it..

Ah I see , already own that specific one. I', pretty sure there are enough similar soundscapes but the first/only thing that comes to mind at the moment is Moonless Nights moonlessnights.bandcamp.com/ which might already be known to you since it has been recommended again in the forum!! Nice, looking for more people to drop down some names while I'll also try to dig for maybe more!

Hi to all.
I'm looking for DS inspired by atmosphere of the golden times of Spain. Well, you know, Reconquista, Age of Exploration, conquest of Americas with their dark cults of the grim gods, morions, cuirasses, rapiers, bloody mysteries of Inquisition, religious fanaticism, "The Fountain" of Aronofsky and all such staff.
Thanks in advance.
