Hmm... You got me thinking... And indeed, while it was/is common for a DS/BM combo, it is hard to find DS (in retrospect or modern) stuff in Power/Epic/Traditional metal... The first thing that I tried to think and even there just one track, was of course good old (up until Imaginations) Blind Guardian with "A PAst and Future Secret" which has an instrumental version on its single (still owned btw from BACK then) .. And since we're at it, as I posted in another thread, just like the song "The Wanderer" by Emperor is (imho) as much DS in spirit as any DS song, Blind Guardian's huge, classic, you name it "The Bard's Song Part I" is full DS-spirit.. But still, nothing, almost nothing else comes to mind.. And Manilla Road's song you posted Element0s .. I'd also mention Therion, since at the(ir best era) Theli to Lemuria/Sirius B had more than enough strong instrumentals..

I've been looking into this a little bit, more in terms of the old records and proto ds. I have found some stuff. Still working on a list but check these ones out.

Not power metal, but italian heavy rockers Elektradrive had a DS-like tune on their first album: youtu.be/qJSepKiqNDY

This may or may not be surprising to some but there is a lot of crossover appeal between Dungeon Synth and fans of fantasy-inspired traditional heavy metal/power metal in both North America and the EU. This completely makes sense to me. I've always seen a big musical link between trad metal, black metal and epic synth tunes. Sure, the instrumentation changes and there are differences on the surface but they all have roots in a mix of classical/medieval/folk music to my ears. I remember hearing 2nd wave black metal in the 90s and being really pleased that the feeling of trad metal was present in the music as I felt it had been lost in the grunge/groove metal years.
Anyway, reading this opening post, my thoughts immediately went to this tune. Sacred Hour by Magnum. A trad metal/prog masterpiece with a keyboard intro so epic that the keyboard player from Dimmu Borgir just had to borrow it for the original release of their Stormblast album.

Magnum is such an underrated band...and I really go mad each time I rewatch their covers in my vinyl collection! About the connection w/trad metal: of course there is! From my point of view, my "Odissea" album is an actual epic-power metal work played with DS tools.

Had repeated listens earlier today, thanx for posting this man, great stuff, both tracks, out of the blue like a comet that exploded like a fireflash!! Total respect for Eternal Champion whom "Armor of Ire" I already have great respect, for trying and succeeding in this project, hopefully they'll either combine it to their (great) stuff or maybe keep on releasing separate DS albums/eps ... Total respect, glad this thing gains such momentum!!

Thanks to this thread I have now checked out Magnum. They are great! I had previously always been interested in their album covers but assumed they were just 80s cheese rock more than anything else. How wrong I was!

Oh and Threshold Est by Eternal Champion is pretty good! It really has the vibe of a soundtrack from an 80s Italian Conan ripoff about it (I mean that in a good way, I love that era of cinema!)
