So I just created my first two tracks and would like some feedback on what I can do to improve. Frogsabbey.bandcamp.com
I'm not well versed in music theory so the flute melody for Untitled 1 if you can call it a melody was composed using a generative sequencer in the key of the track.
I personally would like to would like to have my music be more played like the music I hear but have a hard time thinking when a certain instrument should come in and what others I could lay on top of it.
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for any help! your tracks are not bad, I just would extend that kind of recordings to a longer time so they could definitely make a dark ambience. That said, if moving to a more fantasy-DS style is in your plans and dreams, I highly recommend to start studying harmony and theory. There are many books about that but, as long as I remember, the Musician Institute one (by Keith Wyatt) is the best for beginners. It's the only way to have perfect consciousness of your music (I know DS is most instinctive, but it's not enough if you want to compose with a soundtrack approach!).

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look at picking that book up.
