Graumahd is a German neo-folk project, I think the German language fits so wonderful with the music. There are a lot of good German neo-folk artists out there, that makes me appreciate the language a lot more.

Oh gosh I love neofolk. Hagalaz' Runedance's album "The Winds that Sang of Midgard's Fate" is my single favorite album of all time, period. It makes me cry every time I listen to it :3. I also LOVE Faun. I present for your viewing pleasure Walpurgisnacht www.youtube.com/watch?v=U10ftE4XQvo

... The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud is probably my second favorite neofolk artist, Death in June is third (obligatory). TMLHBaC actually has quite a few dungeon-y keyboard passages. I tried searching on youtube for a song to post, but apparently there isn't anything posted. Strange. ... Totally. I'm not sure why it's so hard to find tracks... For some reason sometimes I search and find nothing, but if I search just part of there name I tend to find more. this track is one of my favourites: Was lucky enough to work in a record shop in the late 90s early 00s and got a few of these while they were still available.

I guess Havnatt counts, right?
Anything Scandinavian-flavored that's subtle and lacks cheese is my favorite. Any other similar acts worth exploring?
Other than these guys, I also have to agree on the mentions of Nature and Organization and Nest. Amazing stuff.

I am quite the fan. I enjoy quite a few bands such as:
Falkenstein
Darkwood
As well as the usual suspects, such as Di6, Dies Natalis, Of the Wand & the Moon, Forseti, etc, etc...
I also produce my own under the name "Vorfahren".

Speaking of Neo-Folk I could define the three favorites:
1) Kiss The Anus of A Black Cat A band from Belgium I think. You could misjudge it for some grindcore stuff due to the name, but in fact it refers to some obscure witch ritual, it has nothing to do with grindcore messages. Very beautiful and majestic music in fact.
2) Leakh debute It features dark primitive dungeon tunes and a hysterical voice. A sick album, not for everyday listening.
3) Neutral Dunno what to say here. They has quite too rich sound texture and sophisticated arrangements for a NeoFolk band. The music is not a "simple masterpiece" but a crafty work of art. These influenced me a lot.

King Dude is one of my all-time favorite artists. I even have his Naudhiz logo tattooed on my arm heheh... King Dude is kind of like Death in June meets Nick Cave. With some other influences too. It's a really varied artist actually. One of the few artists I'm kind of fanboying around, you could say.

King Dude is a bit hit or miss from me. I like his country-leanings, but I prefer someone like Jay Munly for that kind of gothic-tinged country atmosphere. I've really only listened to Burning Daylight all the way through, everything else has been tracks.
Teen Cthulhu ruled.

I agree with thekeeper. Some King Dude is really good, but a lot of his stuff falls a bit short of the mark. One reason is, IMO, that as a vocalist he doesn't have a very wide range and as such falls short in many songs. King Dude is one of those artists I'd want to like more than I actually do.
I've lately been on a German neofolk trip. I find they have a very distinct sound and style often, with artists such as Darkwood, Werkraum and Leger Des Heils having something in common I just can't put my finger on. And it isn't the language, although that plays a role too. German just fits in perfectly with neofolk. Especially Leger Des Heils' Licht! album has been in heavy rotation lately...

Valí is lovely and melancholic at the same time. I listen to neo-folk very often, I love the calmness in it. Woodfall from Musk Ox is one of my favourites lately. Thanks for re-introducing me to this, very calming.
