Greetings everybody, I was just wondering what inspires you to keep making music and keep creating? For me its probably listening to other music and being in awe that something like that can be made, mostly the ambient works of Burzum inspire me to keep creating.
Personal favourite: Burzum - Tomhet (or Emptiness from The Ways of Yore)

For me, it’s fundamentally disliking the world around me and wanting to conjure something I prefer using the various mediums and skills I have access to. It’s also rather nice knowing that others are trying to summon similar places: I get to have neighbours I like, and the view improves with every new vista they add.

Almost entirely nature, mostly forests and mountains. I try to spend as much of my free time surrounded by trees haha

Just a need to keep the creative part of my brain active. Otherwiss, my brain drifts into thinking about unimportant things and starts to worry.

For me its probably listening to other music and being in awe that something like that can be made... Definitely feel the same, some sounds just evoke such a powerful feeling that the only response is to try to share that feeling with anyone else. I have to be careful not to hew too close to the artists who inspire me, but I'm constantly hearing new sounds and my first response is "This is awesome! I want to do exactly that!" I guess it's a way to defy apathy, just being made to feel something and desperately wanting to have that same effect.

I think I draw a lot of my inspirations from a few different places. How I write depends on how I am feeling, so I will jump in the studio if I'm having a bad day, just to let all of that go. I also go hikes weather permitting every Saturday, while I'm out I will take my camera with me and will snap a few shots. Some of those end up being used for album covers and other things. Listening to other musicians in the community, or watching the various streaming events. The effort everyone puts into their videos, its hard not to be inspired.

History and Folklore are true inspiration. In particular old japanese ghost stories and bestiaries / books about yokai. Ukiyo-e and prints are an awesome amount of visual information...

For me it can be a number of things, I would say the most frequent is nature, pictures of old castles, Medieval paintings, and music I find that I love.

honestly i just think it's fun. it's like playing a game, and at the end you win a piece of art. i definitely have deeper artistic inspirations and thoughts to get across, but ultimately the thing that keeps me doing it is that i enjoy the process

Mostly the childish joy in the auditive experimentation.

For me it's the all about the process. It's both cathartic and therapeutic. And it's the only time I ever really feel free. So, the results don't matter all that much.

The addictive creative process, especially being a solo artist who's 100% in control of the outcome. Sometimes I surprise myself.

Madness. Insanity. Wish I knew honestly. I've had multiple opportunities to drift away from it and focus on other things in life, but something always compels me to return. When I'm away from it, all I can ever tend to think about is how to do it even better, and how to come back and do it 'right.'
