This is a very confident track. I love when an artist finds a progression that works and just lets it breathe. I wish I had the patience to make something like this.

I have been slowly realizing that having that minimalist sound really helps me set the mood of a track or album. I feel like (for me at least) this track takes it a step further.

^Hah, that's funny, it's overcast here too, plus it's snowing. Where do you live? I'm in Colorado. But then us synthheads don't need it to be overcast (/an excuse) to listen to moody stuff

Yes, good guess on the mountains, Wolf Creek's like half an hour away. Not to get away from good ol' Haudh though: with this song, what he's done on Der Erlkonig, "To The Grave", "A Flickering Flame", Hymns of the Traitor Legions, "Ruins of Old", his album as Nahm Tok, etc., he's got a lot of not only good, if not excellent stuff, but none of it sounds the same either.

Gotta be that time of year, its cloudy and cold here in Ohio. It is currently 34 here right now. Little warmer than yesterdays 19...but not by much.

I try my best to make sure every album has its own sound, especially concept albums like "Der Erlkonig", "Hymns of the Traitor Legions". The only ones that sound kind of similar was the Split I did with Seregost, "An Oath of Blood" and Hymns.

I try my best to make sure every album has its own sound, Yeah, I've wondered if that was just the way you did things or if it was by design. Now I know "Hymns of the Traitor Legions" Somewhat like with "Ruins of Old", that one had your most "buzzy" sound yet (unlike most of the other stuff you've done)!

The way everything sounds is by design. But "Specters" was different. Everything about that album was a happy accident and a lot of what I was feeling at the time. The whole album was written in three days. It was all completely improved, I went into the studio, checked levels, hit record, and just started playing. I did the same thing during the last 15 minutes of my Skirmish set over the summer.
