Dungeon Synth isn't upbeat and happy. Those traits are antithetical to Dungeon Synth. Symphonic music played with synthesizers doesn't automatically qualify as Dungeon Synth. That's what I meant with my "classic DS" term. Since the genre "explosion" a few years ago there is so much around and labelled as DS which it - if being strict - couldn't really be called that way. But well... I don't really (that much) mind what is and what is not DS by some form of definition. Sure a genre name should be in some form of borders though. Anyway - apart from all that: if we don't call the more heroic, light, adventurous DS could you then point me towards "uprising fantasy synthesizer music" then? The word is "uplifting". Uplifting fantasy music is not Dungeon Synth. It's basically the aesthetic mirror image of Dungeon Synth. It's the opposite of DS. Uplifting fantasy music is to Dungeon Synth what pop is to metal. Same instruments, different styles.
It's not Dungeon Synth.

Yes, I know what you mean. Your links however aren't really what I am looking for. Sure they are "positive" and uplifting. But they are far more orchestral than what I am thinking of and do not sound like the Bal Sagoth examples I put in my opening post. But thank you anyway, of course

Adventurous and rousing? Barak Tor and Medhelan immediately come to mind. Each in a different way. The former is a hefty two-handed sword whose broad orchestral swings echo with triumph and heroism. The latter is a swift bronze blade engraved with intricate folk patterns, an heirloom of ancient songs. Choose your artifact. . . and each will carve a vibrant impression in your mind.
Not posting links or highlights, make your own discoveries. No two ears hear alike.

I personally just think of this kind of stuff as "fantasy soundtrack" music. I'm not sure those Bal-Sagoth intros could really be distinguished as a separate style from fantasy film and video game soundtracks.
