Greetings. I'm, as you would expect from my username and that of the thread, a dungeon synth artist under the name Wraethean. I'd say that although my current style of composition cribs heavily from the stalwarts of the genre, I'm also greatly influenced by ambient music, atmospheric black metal, and a slight amount of drone. Thematically, I strive to capture an archaic atmosphere filtered through a more melancholic, dreamlike if not outright fantastic lens; nocturnal channelings of ruins and forests of a time and place forever beyond reach. Ultra-pretentious descriptions aside, my first compositions are available on a split with ambient black metal artist Talashar, and can be found here: talashar.bandcamp.com/album/chamber-of-observance-talashar-wraetheanWhile I feel like I've made an acceptable start with this material, there's certainly more to be worked on, and techniques to hone. More material is (slowly) in the works, so hopefully that will turn out superior. No official Bandcamp of my own yet (when I have more than two songs ready to share), but my Facebook page is: www.facebook.com/Wraethean/Now that formalities are out of the way, I'm looking forward to spending time on this forum; great community and discourses to be had!

I've heard this stuff before; I liked it then, and I like it, still, now as I listen through it again. Great to have you here! This stuff is pretty ambitious, and enjoyable to listen to. I look forward to hearing more of your material!

The first new material I've completed in a while, finally uploaded as a precursor to my work on the first full-length. I'm glad to finally get this cover out there, although it's admittedly quite hard to do the original track justice while straying from the black metal elements.

The sounds on here are great! What vst's did you use?

All were, of course, effected and reverbed beyond comprehension. Sorry for taking so long to reply; as can be inferred from my absence on the forum entirely for a while, life's been busy lately.

So in the time that's passed in my absence, I've released a humble Mortiis cover, if only to get back into the habit of invoking the creative spirits. That elusive full-length album is still in the works, and hopefully will see the light of day during this lifetime, assuming technology cooperates.
