Hello everyone, my first tread in the forum which I have been entering for years but just now I became a user, how are you?


I was listening to Quest Master and I was wondering (just out of curiosity)what synths he uses on his records. As he says in his bandcamp "...Using classic Casio and Yamaha keyboards and an added focus on FM Synthesis", but which ones? d not find much information about it or interviews.


I assumed that the question was in this part of the forum, if not, let me know. Thanks a lot!

if you're going for hardware, id say go with literally the cheapest ones possible. go to a thrift store or something. i have to be honest... they really mostly sound the same so you aren't gonna find one that wont work for this kind of music. id say avoid the ones that look new, the shittier the better

if you want to be more specific, theres this guy on youtube who reviews old toy keyboards, so id recommend checking out his videos to find a keyboard that sound good to you. www.youtube.com/c/8BitKeys

for plugins, id say stick to soundfonts (for rompler sounds) or dexed (a free fm synth) and maybe pair it with a bitcrusher to lower the resolution
