I haven't seen a Tomb Raider thread here. I love the original trilogy, especially TRII It has such a great atmosphere, very little can match it in the gaming world, at least in my book. The new stuff is good, but they are 'just games', if you know what I mean. TR1-3 with their difficulty level, unmatched atmosphere, which as in DS, is partly due to the limitations... The soundtrack is amazing, even though there is not that many distinct 'songs'. Very memorable and fitting. These are, together with Diablo 2, Half Life and some others, games I like to come back to from time to time. What is your relation to Tomb Raider?

I remember Tomb Raider being new in the 3d era.. Didn't play it back then but I certainly had an interest too, even though 3d "action-adventure" genre is not my cup of tea, I always preferred pure action or of course pure adventure games even though 2d/platform action adventures were always a thing since at least the 8bits with great games.. I tried later to get into the series but never got through, kind of shame since I was always distracted with something else, but the woman version of Indiana Jones, looking for treasures and the like does indeed to me bring a lot of DS vibes, as anything really antiquity related, or Archaeology related.. Never checked the OST though so I'll certainly do after the recommendations you made!

Yes, it has that ancient vibe that DS often tries to convey. I would suggest not looking at it in terms of genre, there is really nothing really like it. It's like with Dark Souls, you can call it action RPG, adventure, but really is something on it's own. If you're interested in ancient things, archeology, myths, etc, you're almost bound to love it
