Great work keeping the physicals flowing engraven !! But man this got my attention, even thousands of kilometers away : Fantasy fans will have a new home/hub here in Austin, TX very soon. For now, check out what Tiny Minotaur is all about and up to: Tiny MinotaurI know it's not a tavern but transitioning from one into a fantasy place, but mate I SWEAR I have thought endless , endless times what places could use/be enhanced with Dungeon Synth (besides the obvious libraries, archives, fantasy related places etc etc) and it is the ancient and surviving to this day beloved TAVERN. Yeah I might get a strong vibe for taverns since taverns, inns were always present in literature, movies, rpgs etc etc, but I REALLY REALLY love listening to specific Dungeon Synth stuff while eating, preparing food, cooking(Fief's peacefulness and tranquillity really help with my appetite and is joyful as much as listening to DS at night trying to forget this world and just enjoy the stars/sky and atmosphere.. I got carried of, sorry , I wish the best for Minotaur place and have a great time both you and people joining!! p.s.Minotaur's mythical labyrinth was in Knossos, Crete (modernly restored/reimagined :/ ...) ruins, if you ever get the chance to visit, lots of ancient DS inspiring stuff to check if you ever get to make a euro trip!!

Behold! The terra firma Behold! These continents of old FORLORN ASPECT - VISIONS OF THE CAUSAL SOURCE Hellish, progenitive sights and sounds from the beginning and end of times. Doomy mysticism, atmospheric heights, and Abrahamic wrath eddy into a ferocious black metal maelstrom. coming sooner than you'd think on tape and CD, orders open at engraven.bandcamp.com/album/visions-of-the-causal-sourceFrom the same trio who conjured our previous release, Abhasa 1 (have I mentioned members are also behind the Archana and Alloch Nathir dungeon synth projects? ... have I mentioned that we're releasing a brand new Archana full-length later this summer?)

Lots of huge announcements to make, so this will be a BIG post ... (and it's my 100th post ... how bout that) I present to you the brand new online storefront / hub for all things in the now-expanding Engraven universe: the label, a distro, tape/cd proliferation (coming soon), Tiny Minotaur Dungeon Synth Nights (more info below), and an even bigger announcement just further off into the horizon ... The Dungeon Music Shoppe, Distro, & ProliferationThe site will be the best and cheapest way to get all Engraven releases, and we'll be distroing current and future releases from Barrow Hoard and Realm & Ritual (and will be looking to add more label partners soon), as well as a wide assortment of other, sometimes pretty random, music stock -- but the focus will always be DS/DS-adjacent/metal/fantasy. There's some rarities from the old Mystic Timbre catalog lurking in the shadows of the inventory as well. & thanks to the fckin wonderful folks at Tiny Minotaur, The Dungeon will also have a permanent, physical record shoppe location at the new Tiny Minotaur Tavern in Austin, where we'll be holding Dungeon Synth Nights (more info directly below) and daily fantasy/nerdy shenanigans. I doubt there are any locals here who would see this in time to go haha, but it's a momentous occasion anyway ... Tiny Minotaur Dungeon Synth Nights 001: Travelers from the West Saturday October 21st Join us for the inaugural occasion of Tiny Minotaur Dungeon Synth Nights as we welcome three esteemed travelers from the West joined by a Texas vanguard to celebrate old alliances and new beginnings. Malfet, legendary purveyor of pastoral synth majesty, travels inland from the Pacific Coast in support of their shining new full-length album, Dolorous Gard. Blood Tower, longtime operator of one of dungeon synth's most hallowed imprints, Moonworshipper Records, comes from across the Great Plains with their latest tape release, Cryptic Nonsense, in tow. Morbærsanger crosses the western state border and endures the harsh deserts and hills to bring us the verdant sounds of their recent split release on Moonworshipper, Sylvan Wanderers. Texas dungeon synth stalwart Mortwight joins the travelers in the North and leads the party on tour down the concrete corridor to Austin, supporting two summer split releases of their own. Apoxupon opens the inauguration with the first live performance of their defining early album, How the Garden Grows, supporting brand new reissues on tape and CD through Engraven Records. ()xxxxx[[{:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::> Lastly, we're also dropping our latest release, Archana's Tablet from the Taiga, and two brand new reissues of our founding releases: Apoxupon's How the Garden Grows and Alloch Nathir's The Emerald Grotto

Is going to be like the dungeon synth equivalent of Helvete? It all sounds pretty exciting, good luck! I listened to Archana - Tablet from the Taiga and thought it was great. It gave me a frigid, austere, distant feeling. Maybe this is evoked by the album cover, but this is making me think of the Nordmar area in Gothic 3. Also while listening I thought of Gvasdnahr. Maybe they aren't that similar musically, but they just sort of brought me to the same emotional place, like an alert icy serenity. It brought me to a contemplative reminiscent state, a vast space for old majestic memories to rise back to the surface, like mountains in a landscape.

Nah Helvete still just looks like a dive bar with a stage ... Tiny Minotaur actually looks like a tavern from a fantasy/tabletop-world. Incredible work by extremely talented fabricators. There's an elven temple complete with fountains and gardens outside, a library with dusty tomes inside, etc etc. Amazing attention to detail. Every inch of every surface is fabricated or outright made of carved wood, weathered stone, and such. No shiny flat modern gunmetal surfaces in sight. "Alert icy serenity" is an amazing way to describe the album. Really glad that you enjoyed it and were able to connect with its themes and mood!
