I have released my dungeon synth project's debut album: The First Revelation. It is an atmospheric and narrative DS experience that fortells the beginning of the end. This release is inspired by such things as the myth of Christian Rosenkreuz, Gnosticism, and many interpretations of the end of the world. It sets the scene for what I hope to turn into a bestiary-like exploration of the many wonders of our world; the physical, the fictional, the mythical, and whatever else may be deemed worthy of being recorded into the CODICES VITAE, the books of life. codicesvitae.bandcamp.com/album/the-first-revelation--- The chimes of the abbey beckon those who remain into its walls. Those who heed the call and devote to preservation and to worship are saved. Others are cast out into the storms and the darkness. Torchlight guides the Disciples through the cloisters and into the vast catacombs where the scrolls were first placed all those years ago. Archaic rites and ceremonies are restored to the knowledge of men to sanctify the temple. The manuscripts are reverently transcribed onto fresh pages. Their wisdom is saved from the brink of the precipice. The Archives become the home of this solitary diocese of devotees. God has commanded the disciples to begin His great task. The Preservation must begin. The righteous are surely blessed for their zealous fealty. Does God not also love his children? Salvation cometh through their sacrifice for near is the time when nothing will remain save for His work. אֵין סוֹף الصُّوفِيَّة ἀβραξάς

The 2023 EP is here at last. HIEMS FABULAE I: Oryctolagus cuniculus is a three-track EP released on December 31st, 2022, and tells the tale of a rabbit's winter as well as offering a rendition of the classic winter tune 'Greensleeves'. /////////////////// Lore of a bygone frigid winter: Death and the Hare. - - - - - - That fateful storm, the piercing, blinding howls. I cry out, the frost devours me. The rest of a dying breath. I have gone on into the springtime, forevermore amidst the flowers.

I have released a new album today, entitled Bathypelagian Abyss. A handful of Bandcamp codes will likely be shared when I get the chance to post them. --- The ocean is pulled with the tide, away from the shore and down, down into the unseen black. A blossom of life from just beyond the bones of decay. Such unknowable richness. Beauty found even after it's gone, through the ever-fleeting stars that surround them. Here and there, now and then. Stars ever after. The snow in this cold, cold realm never settles but always flies on their strange winds. And in this yet another blossom, a blessing! Thalassa certainly provides for her sons and daughters just as He to His. The sons and daughters, such strange folk. They all rest much, having naught but to prowl and listen, look into that in which nothing can be found. So cold... and yet they are there. A blessing to be charged with the safeguarding of such a realm! The sea denies our presence in such a place, blessed and beautiful. The tide pulls away all which it had brought in for a humbling glimpse of her strange world and we are left to ponder what we see in the water's placid reflection. بهموت לִוְיָתָן Θάλασσα nnw Nānaw

Your prose really illuminates the unknowable magic of the abyssal plain, and the sounds are similarly enchanting.

Furthermore, as a general thread post, I do not currently have anything new for Codices Vitae in the making but I'm sure I will some time in the future. A new seasonal EP has been added to the Bandcamp page for autumn. This was composed using new tools and I'm personally quite proud of how it turned out. The first two tracks hearken back to the composition style of the debut release, track three and four are ambient pieces, and the final track is a noise piece so I think it's a pleasant mix of old and new.
I'd be keen to hear what any of you have to say about it!
------- Dolorem Aeternum The depths of my sorrow Everlasting sadness Grief and misery Autumn's dusk That deep chill which pierces the bone of man

The sheltering shadows of the tomb, a safe haven for darksome creatures to dwell. I like that splashy lofi percussive sound on the first two tracks. The 8-bit elements are dressed up and used in a subtle atmospheric way, everything sounding unfamiliar, more like dingy broken old organs and whatnot rather than just an NES playing gothic music. Except the last track sounds like an NES spontaneously combusting from demonic possession. I can't recall ever hearing chiptune type sounds with that much dynamic textural movement. I'd be interested to hear that technique applied to a more melodic track rather than a noise track. Overall great spooky atmospheres without being draining, very enjoyable.

I wasn't really planning to do anything further in the direction of the last track, but the idea of employing those kinds of textures in a melodic setting is truly intriguing. Perhaps I'll experiment with that in the future and see where it takes me...

New here, your project name - and user name - caught my eye, since I'm an archivist by profession. I just started listening and I appreciate your polyglot imagination and imagery.
