Attempting to create a very dark and evil sound. Please let me know any feedback! All kinds are welcome Thanks for your time. shelter-ambient.bandcamp.com/

really enjoyed Demo III - excited to check out the rest. Those two tracks do a LOT with minimal ingredients.

Can I ask - what is your inspiration behind Demo III? You mention a kind of spiritual/occult battle - are you thinking like Choronzon or the abyss of many folk traditions? Just curious.

I am really liking Demo III. Listening to Sounds from the Forgotten Realm now. This is going right on my Erdstall playlist.

It's inspired by some personal experiences with what I identified as dark forces. I'm a believer in spirits, and the house I grew up was filled with them. Myself and my family have quite a number of stories and experiences about this house, this release is inspired by a weekend of events that ended quite tragically. At this stage, I'm not comfortable going into more detail about what happened. My full length release expands on this one, and is also inspired by personal experiences as well as a legend and history behind a house in my neighbourhood that is quite well known for its occult activity. Thanks for the feedback everyone, I greatly appreciate it!

I liked Demo III the most of them all. And the albumart from Sounds from the Forgotten Realm is pretty cool.

ONe thing - after listening to Demo III a bunch this week, I will say that one of the things that is most striking about it is the placement of sounds in the mix - the fact that some sounds/samples sound closer than others based on level of reverb or other effects on the sample is really effective. Instead of sounding like much DS with a very clear sense of "this weird orchestra was recorded in a cavernous hall", this material in particular sounds like an imaginary space. The effect is very hypnotic to me, and definitely made a strong impression on my first listen, when I was near sleep.

I wanted to get as close to a ritualistic trance as possible. Thanks again for the feedback!

This is no good man - we make up things with our own minds very easily -I am not being a smart arse just worried for you-Iron Maidens Fear of the Dark comes to mind. Although I do like to fantasise such things could be real that would be 'cool'

It's hard for me to explain exactly what it is, but there is definitely evil forces in this world. Whether it's in the mind or in reality

Personally I don't think there are any 'evil' forces in this world -for me it always was and always will be a 'good' place to be. What you would call evil to me is maybe just people trying to do the right thing but with a lack of direction a lot of the time through no real fault of their own, but the tide will always turn and things will correct themselves- harmony must be the by-product of chaos for chaos to even exist in the first place. Nature and the universe is utterly and completely amazing-perfect beyond our comprehension and ultimately benevolent to itself and all of its inhabitants because let's face it things always work out in the end - what goes up must come down (Because they are polarities and are hence just by-products of each other). Mother Nature is nurturing and suckles her young always remember that through observing our environment- this is a healthy invigorating place full of oxygen and all sorts of goodies 😉The concept of ethereal beings that are permanently negatively inclined in order to make themselves and others miserable just seems far fetched to me? But in reality I am not convinced of anything and I have always had a fascination towards the possibility that ghosts etc could exist- I have never experienced it but that is not to say that you have not.

I definitely agree with you on many aspects, things tend to always get better in the end, depending on how you look at things and what your belief system is. I thoroughly enjoy your positivity and I'm glad you think that well, because I'm sure everyone else around you feeds off it. Me? I just like bringing my experiences with dark forces to music
