I discovered Dungeon Synth about seven years ago through a Bandcamp article, have listened on and off and I kept thinking I would like to try this. I started on another musical project first (Trebizond), using acoustic instruments, kind of similar to what Baerdcyn does. Then for Christmas I was able to score a used Yamaha PSR-200 for $40 on a local marketplace and I've started my "Amnor" project which so far has been about half DS, half Neo-folk, I guess. Before I discovered the genre I went through some intensive phases of listening to Phillip Glass and Steve Reich, the Nordic folk revival of the 1990s, some classic prog rock. I've been listening to a lot of medieval music for the past decade and started playing it live at ren faires on my mountain dulcimer and drums. I'm currently working on my second Amnor album, which is a lot more synth and less acoustic, though I still like adding my acoustic percussion. I have no budget: I record on a little Sony IC Recorder, I edit in Audacity (including taking out as much hiss as I can), and sometimes I program in Anvil Studio. I want to revive the keyboard skills I once had. I should have done this years ago, but anyway here I am, and glad to find this repository of so much experience. trebizond.bandcamp.com/album/moribund-dominions
