This is my second release for 'Mourne': A dungeon synth project inspired by the natural environment of Ireland.

'On Earthen Peaks​.​.​.' is inspired by the Mountains of Mourne in Southern Ulster and the ascent up the mountain range to its highest peak.

This is great. I feel the cold wind and rain and it feels like you are among old monuments no one has ever seen. Matches well with the cover artwork!
Sometimes if you interpret it that way it also sounds like a slight cyperpunk vibe is present... which just shows how good the atmosphere of a distant solitude is crafted

I listened to the three Mourne albums, and I like Fallen on first listen, but the other two I must say I'm finding a bit challenging. On Earthen Peaks... and Passage Tomb both have great sounds and atmospheric color, but the compositional style, having only one or two improvisational layers and the melodies seeming to almost never repeat, for me it is a bit disorienting, feeling like I can sense solid ground but it is always just out of reach, feeling blind. I think with more listens things would start to come together for me better, each subsequent listen so far has seemed to reveal more...

I am looking for riffs basically, perhaps a personal shortcoming of my own music appreciation, I have a hard time with classical too for this same reason.

I can definitely understand why the later albums feel like a harder listen than the first. I think I was listening to a lot of classical music at the time, especially when I was writing 'On Earthen Peaks...'.
